I bought this kit to make canning a little easier. I did find canning with these items better than previous canning sessions without the kit. In particular the canning funnel, the tongs, and lid lifter were very useful. The steamer rack was good to keep the jars off the bottom of the pan but I had trouble with the handles that kept falling into the center of the pot and getting in the way while I was working with the jars. It would be better if I had gotten a rack without handles or if the handles locked in place. Despite that shortcoming, I do feel this kit is a good value.

Really good all around canning kit. The tongs are sturdy, the sieve has a nice wide opening, the basket worked great with my existing stock pot. The magnetic lid grabber was a nice touch. I don't know how long it will last, but for this price, I wouldn't think twice.

Unfortunately this product did not meet my quality standards. The jar grabber easily comes apart in the handle making it dangerous to use. Discovered this while trying to get a jar out of boiling water. The magnet came out of the end of the tool used for picking up lids after using it just a few times. Don’t waste your money!

While all the rest of the tools in this kit are perfect, I was disappointed that the steamer rack was too big to fit into my huge canning pot (by about 1/2 inch). Ended up having to buy a different rack. But overall, it works really well.

its ok when you get it under $20 but the jar tongs keep falling apart

I love canning, and this is a great beginner set to use. Everything is sturdy and seems like it will hold up long term!

These are sturdy items and work well, when the set is actually complete. 2 items were missing, hence the low rating.
