A Doll's House: York Notes Advanced: everything you need to catch up, study and prepare for 2021 assessments and 2022 exams

Excellent background reading for the play, recommended by my instructor at an AP Summer Institute.

Like many of York Notes Advanced's titles, this provides an insightful and useful accompaniment to the study of Ibsen's play.Clearly explained contextual information helps to shape a modern reader's understanding of why the play was so shocking.In-depth character analysis demonstrates the importance of each character in the play, how they each change throughout, and how our perceptions are altered as events unfold.Plot synopsis gives a chunk-by-chunk analysis of the play, and points out important quotes, themes, symbols, etc.Language and style analysis provides a thoroughly academic introduction to the novel.Thoroughly recommended for those studying the play or simply with an interest in Ibsen's work.

This set of Notes seems to be very good for A level students of the play. However, when ordering it I had a peek inside the covers, and I got the wrong impression that the Notes also included the text of the play. As that was not the case, then I had to order the play separately. My fault of course, but I guess it could have stated more clearly "play not included"!

In good condition. Only downside it was first published in 2008. Not sure if there is a more up to date version but hopefully won't make much difference.
