Amazing quality and was delivered very quick! Really loved this product and it was a lot of fun to build with my son of 11 years old. The kit comes with all the necessary tools in a tool box [Soldering iron, Solder, Cutting pliers, Sponges etc.] and has a clear and defined and easy to follow instructions manual. This does require some adult assistance in some phases of the building process but overall is very interactive and fun. It really boosts your knowledge and understanding and gives you a different approach into electronics. Highly recommend this for children and teens of all ages, it makes for a perfect birthday/christmas gift!

This is a review for the phone kit they provide and not the voice assistant. We were a little disappointed but to get the robot to review as that’s what was requested but did find this enjoyable to put together.In the box you get all the components to make a small low tech mobile phone. The parts seem well made and the instructions are easy to follow.Me and my 9 year old managed to put it together without issue. You will require a micro SIM card to put in it, I just used mine to try it out and it worked very well and my lad was able to chat to his friends on a phone he put together. He enjoyed learning about all the different components.Overall it was a fun little project but not something I’d spend a fortune on as there’s no way I’d give my lad this as a daily use mobile phone and it would just end up in landfill eventually.It would be good for a school environment though as they could probably get a lot of learning out of it.Overall it’s a good little learning project but with limited fun and not something you’d use daily although you probably could if you wanted.

We thought we would try this out with my nephew who is 12 to see what he things as he has quite a logical way of thinking even at his age.Within the box you get everything you really need for setting up a basic mobile device including the keypad, screen, sd card etc. Now i have to say this is quite a basic setup which is great for beginners like my nephew (and myself) so don't expect some fancy high tech games to come shooting through.As mentioned you get everything you really need to get this working in the box - you may want a few additional tools of your own as these are basic, however you also get a leaflet and you can look online to see how to do things with tutorials.The programming steps are nice and simple and after it took us a while to get things together we did find it was quite a bit of fun to learn about the different aspects plus you can go online and get some games to put on this.If you like basic engineering with a bit of fun then this really is for you

The kit to self build a mobile phone is really great with the most fiddly and sensitive parts pre-installed onto the motherboard and with clear instructions on how to complete the project. Some adult supervision is surely suggested especially while soldering components.My only grudge is that different to most parcels this was delivered as is, with labels that were impossible to remove from the packaging without ripping the covering plastic. Honestly this could be a great present and for something of this value I would expect a better protection for the box and the protective plastic

Well..as other reviewers have also noted, what I was sent was also a phone kit and not the item on this page. So it's pretty hard to review the correct item.That being said, the kits all seem to be equally well made so I would imagine the kit you buy will be as good as the one I'm reviewing.The phone is a really cool project that turns into something you can not only use, but you wouldnt imagine being able to make by yourself.Thumbs up to circuitmess for going the extra mile and making decent STEM kits rather than just junk you end up having to throw away.

Der kleine Spencer von CircuitMess ist ein typisches Crowdfunding Spielzeug: Eine tolle Idee, hübsch verpackt und peppig beworben. Das tätsächliche Produkt ist dann allerdings eher dröge und unfertig.Beworben wird das Produkt hier in der Produktbeschreibung und im Video auf Deutsch. Wenn man die Verpackung in den Händen hält, steht da allerdings nur englisch. Die Aufbauanleitung liegt zudem nicht bei, sondern muss erst über die Homepage heruntergeladen/angeschaut werden. Natürlich auch alles auf Englisch. Das ist jetzt für die Meisten keine große Hürde, aber warum zum Teufel gibt es ein DEUTSCHES Produktvideo, aber keinen Hinweis darauf, dass das Produkt komplett Englisch ist?Der Zusammenbau ist relativ einfach und dank der guten Sortierung in der Packung und der guten Anleitung gibt es keine Probleme beim Zusammenbau. Vor allem die Kinder waren sehr interessiert daran, was denn jetzt wie und warum verbunden und gelötet wird. Da ist es schön erklären zu können, welchen Weg der Strom nimmt, um im Endeffekt nach der Verarbeitung als Licht und Ton zu erscheinen.Apropos Ton: Der ist natürlich auch ausschließlich ENGLISCH. Fragen an Spencer müssen auch englisch gestellt werden. Die Stimme soll vielleicht lustig klingen, aber gleicht eher der eines typischen verunsicherten amerikanischen Nerds aus der High School.Die Verarbeitung der Sprachdaten geht mir viel zu langsam! Drei bis fünf Sekunden muss man warten, bis Spencer auf die Fragen antwortet. Die Antworten sind meist überbordend lang gehalten, so dass man sich zwar anfangs freut, dass eine Art Kommunikation stattfindet, aber im Endeffekt von den langen Monologen genervt ist.Die Anzeige ist auch sehr langweilig. Die Sprachanimation besteht aus geschätzt fünf Frames, die im Loop abgespielt werden. Da sind die alten Anime-Serien, bei denen es nur "Mund auf, Mund zu" gab, mehr lippensynchron...Die "Programmierung" als Strukturablauf ist einfach zu verstehen, aber natürlich limitiert.So richtig warm werde ich mit Spencer nicht. Ja, die Idee ist nett. Ja, die Aufmachung ist hübsch. Ja, der Bausatz ist gut sortiert und eine runde Sache. Doch so richtig Neugier, "mehr" aus Spencer herauszuholen, gibt es nicht. Da bietet ein einfacher Arduino mit einem Sensorset mehr Möglichkeiten und weckt die Lust nach mehr.Schade, Spencer. Mehr als ein bisschen Spaß beim Zusammenbauen ist leider nicht drin. Zumindest wenn ich an den deutschen Markt denke. Hier sollte der Hersteller dringend über eine Lokalisierung nachdenken. Dann wird es sicherlich auch was z.B. im MNT/TW Unterricht, wer weiss!
