This one you dont attach it to the floor? Is it good for home workout?

This one slips into 2 heavier plates to keep it stable. I place it on a bench that is 18" high. From there I can squat , press and do lunges and do an ab twist ( the best core exercise there is ). On the floor I do deadlifts, rows. Yes, it works.

Is it ok to attach 1 olympic plate (25 lbs. or over) to the base post, or, do i need to use more than 1 olympic plate?

You can if you are using very little weight, otherwise it will slide (that also depends on your flooring). I use a 45 lb bumper plate for 100 lbs or less, and a 45 stacked with a 25 if I am going heavier...

How many inches is the secure knob?

It’s about an 1-1.25” in diameter. I have been using this for years now, works great. Just back the knob out to where the thread isn’t showing inside the opening and slide the barbell in. Bam!

Is there any difference in performance from this one compared to the little nubs you can put on the end of the barbell instead?
