Best boots I have ever owned... period!
I have a tendency to write long reviews when I like a purchase. I could write a couple pages on these boots but I'll keep it short today. I LOVE THESE BOOTS!!! These boots are wonderful and worth every penny. They truly are the best boots I have ever owned. They are high quality, they fit great ( I take a 8.5 so I ordered a 9 ), they look fantastic and they are comfortable. The first time I wore them I could not stop smiling every time I looked at them. I got a compliment on them the first day I wore them while I was standing in line at Target- a guy said "Hey those are nice boots, that white stitching looks great, where did you get them?" I told him they were Docs from Amazon. I like these boots so much I bought a second pair in case Docs stops making them in the future..THATS HOW MUCH I LIKE THEM:)

Lightweight, comfortable
I bought these boots as the pull-on design was what I was looking for and Doc Martens always had a reputation of comfort and quality. I drive commercially hauling water in the gas and oil industry so the steel toe is a must, but wanted something lightweight as my feet can be busy working clutch, throttle, and brake as well as climbing in and out of the truck over a 12 hour shift. The pull on design is great as I am able to put on and remove when I'm making longer trips at which time I put on my driving shoes, especially in hot weather.I've had these about 2 months so far in cold weather and my feet stay warm enough, but not as warm as my insulated hunting boots. If someone was buying these to be outside in cold climate for extended periods of time I would suggest going a half or full size bigger with an insulated sock.Speaking of size, the boots were slightly on the tight side for my size, but have loosened some as they break in. So far I have no complaints and the boots are performing as I expected. I would recommend as they are a good product and the price was very good.

Great boot at first does not last long. sizes not consistent
Ordered the size 12 boot after using a size 13 that stretched out too much. The size 12 arrived and was closer to a 10 1/2. Ordered a second pair in 14 and fits perfectly. Doc Marten boots seem to change their sizing standards over the past few years. Otherwise, after a month of hard use in the Arabian desert they still look like new with a splash of water in the sink. They broke in quickly like all dpc marten boots and were form fitted after a couple days use. Never have had a blister or sore foot with these. I would use these at the gym and for running if I didn't look silly doing it. They are more comfortable and have more support than any gym shoe I have used. For a long day trudging around a hot dusty yard, or hours driving a semi truck, or going on a trek thru the mountains, these are well worth it.PS look for the made in UK doc martens, the leather and sewing is much better than the Chinese made ones. I think the UK made doc martens have the word "legacy" in the product description.Update April 20.2011Have used these boots since October 2010. 7 months. Stitching is coming out, the leather loop on the top has broke on one boot cause the stitching was faulty. The soles on both shoes are coming apart from the shoes. Insole wore out in a month, the inside of the heel where my foot meets the back of the boot has bulged out at the back and split the leather. The boots are no longer comfortable and springy.Disappointed in the quality of Doc Marten. I had other pairs of doc martens shoes that lasted much much longer than this. This is the second pair of bad doc martens in a row. They used to be a good shoe when made in UK now just cheap Chinese junk.

Comfortable / good looking / durable / weatherproof
This is my third pair of the same style/model boot. All have been very weatherproof (I even wear them while snowblowing sometimes). They're VERY comfortable after a brief break-in period (maybe 2-3 weeks of daily wear). They look VERY good, and I get a lot of compliments. Actually, I wear these as my 'dress shoes' to work with my slacks and button down shirt- that's how nice they look. The only complaint I have is that the soles seem to crack on the bottom of them after ~3-4 years. After the sole cracks, they're still comfortable, but less waterproof. At that point, your sock will get wet if you walk through a puddle.AGAIN, that is after 3-4 years, which is long after I'd expect other boots to last. You won't be disappointed, and will likely become a lifetime fan, like myself!!

Nice Boots, But...
Not use to steel toe, so not really sure what to expect. If they came in half sizes I probably would have done that. The boot fits, but the sides are a little too narrow around the arch of my foot. I feel like maybe I need to break them in a little, but then again maybe I should go one size larger. I have not walked extended periods of time in the boots yet, only inside the house. Just want to make sure my big toe wont be an issue in the future cause its not likely to break in that part being made of steel.I like the general look and feel otherwise, and they seem really well made. I don't think I would be able to double up on socks, or wear super thick ones either with these boots. If you have really narrow feet then I guess they would suit fine, but if you don't, it's probably a gamble, and my feet are not particularly wide either. It's possible I may return them, it's a shame cause they are really nice boots...** Update Oct 2014 **I decided to keep them. I have worn them on a long day of walking around site-seeing in a city I have never been to before. They were fine. Although in the back of my mind I was worried the whole time that at some point my feet and particularly my big toe would eventually hurt, due to rubbing against the steel portion of the boot. Now am in a weird space when it comes to footwear. Sometimes I'm an 11 and other times I'm a 10.5 or in EU sizes 44, 45, or 46. If I were to do it again I might have gone with the size 12 instead so I can double up on socks. Again they are really nice looking boots that I can use for riding...
