Great Mouse for any CAD Work
If you use it every day hard, won't last longer than 1.5 years, I've had 4 of these, they are a consumable CAPX item. After 1.5 years the clicking on the left button starts to fail if you tend to rest your hand back on the mouse, you'll get more failed clicks repeatedly. You then have to slide your hand further up to strike the front of the button, which is unnatural for me, as I like to rest most of my wrist on my desk. At the same time, scrolling will begin to fail, you'll scroll down and it will bounce back up. Randomly. This has happened on all models I have. The little pads on the bottom wear out pretty quickly, not enough to prompt a replacement, but they wear on the 3DConnexion pad. This is a great mouse for ArchiCAD, Rhino, Sketchup, Autocad, Photoshop, Office apps and anything else. This newer version I just received today seems to have a sharper click, and easier scrolling wheel (the force it takes to push down on the scroll button has been reduced). I've own this model before, but this one feels a little different. Hope it improves on the complaints I mentioned above. Programming of this with the software is great, nothing bad to report. Drivers are updated frequently, and I enjoy the compatibility across all major software manufacturers I "rent" my software from. Edit: New mouse purchased December 2022 just failed like all the others on the scroll wheel. It will bounce up and down and act erratically. Just filed a warranty claim as I am tired of paying for replacements. I'm looking at alternative brand Logi for their top model to try and replace this model as I can tell 3Dconnexion isn't improving build quality for this very expensive CAD mouse.

An excellent mouse for artists and drafters. Very slick. Very precise.
I'm writing this review on the day that I received the item. We will see if this thing holds up over time. I put 5 stars for battery life because this mouse has a USB connection. No battery is needed. I personally prefer a direct connection from my mouse to the computer anyway. There is an inevitable lag with Bluetooth. Slick. That's the first word that came to mind when I first started working with it. I could use my hand coordination without any impediment. The cursor went exactly where I wanted it to go. You also get the three buttons, and your fingers fit nicely around all three. If you use Blender, Maya, or AutoCAD, then you can appreciate the value of that. Again, I only just bought it, but as of now, I am very happy.

Favorite features, flaky hardware, okay support.
Most of my time is spent in CAD on a Windows machine, so this Cad mouse in my Right hand and a Spacemouse in my left means I only need to move my hands off of them to enter dimensions. The middle mouse button being distinct from the scroll wheel is perfect... especially since the scroll wheel has died on me for two of these now, and another one developed issues with clicks either not registering or clicking too many times. Thankfully it has a decent warranty and while it took a bit of back and forth via email each time, they did eventually replace each failed one. I'll probably keep getting it replaced until it either goes out of warranty and I find something more reliable, or they make a more reliable version of this. I hope for the latter, but probably wouldn't recommend this even if you have and use a spacemouse.

Wireless when mobile, this one for home.
This is just the same as the wireless one beyond the obvious difference. I personally never liked the back and forward button placement as they are too easy to hit when coming back from using the keyboard even after years enough to get used to. If they took the time to use stiffer switches to overcome the weight of the mouse itself, that would solve the problems but profit came before ergonomics as usual. Sadly, there is no better full three button mouse so I have two versions now that annoy me.

Short lifespan
I've had 3 of these both wired and wireless, they flake out after a short time with the buttons having intermittent function and/or the scroll wheel having a mind of it's own, of course after the warranty period is up I'm done buying these, will find something else, for the money you spend on this product it should be rock solid.

Nice mouse so far, but ...
Absolutely the most squirrely software driver configuration I've ever experienced. I've spent almost as much time trying to configure it as I have using it. Only rarely recognizes when I'm in Onshape, and at that, offers sketch entities in the radial menu before being in a sketch. Other options I need are not available to place into a custom radial menu, leaving the Onshape "S" menu completely usable and much more useful. Somehow, the wheel speed set itself to a ridiculously slow speed, only returning to normal after uninstalling the driver. After uninstalling the driver, the wheel speed did the same thing, requiring unplugging it, so it's not just software.

The best mouse for cad
To be honest it’s quiet expensive. But totally worth it I love this product

No driver for Windows 7 so it's just an expensive mouse

Bought this mouse specifically for AutoCAD and can’t use it anymore because of the scrolling wheel. It doesn’t detect the scroll or activates the button fonction without inputs, cancelling the cad command your doing. For the price I expected a longer life span.

Like other users, I started to have problems with the mouse before a year of use. I loved it up until the scroll wheel started to miss detecting scrolls downward. I replaced a very old but still functioning Logitech mouse for the CadMouse Pro because of the middle button that came with the CadMouse, but now the scroll wheel is missing scrolling. And to contact 3DConnexion support I have to provide them with a ton of details about myself before even knowing whether they will support the product. For the price I would expect this mouse to last at least 3 years before having any issues.
