Reliably warm.
Second pair I've owned. Great comfort and reliability. Nice and toasty.

ridiculously useful when photographing out in the elements
I have captured many a sea otter image with my camera and these gloves. they definitely save the rest of your hand from freezing and you will be able to operate your gear with the exposed fingers with ease

These are a cool weather photographers glove that will protect in wind but not in rain.
I recently bought these gloves for a photography trip to Iceland. I definitely put these gloves to the test and subjected them to all types of weather and elements. Here is what I discovered in using these gloves over the course of 8 days. Fit - I ordered size LARGE and they were a little on the snug side. If you wanted to were a glove liner under them order up another size. Other than that I did like the way they fit my hand. Wind resistance - YES, This was hugely important, The iceland wind is no joke and we experienced wind multiple times in excess of 60mph. Water Resistance - These are NOT waterproof gloves, they do have some water resistant properties, but if you are out in a rain or sleet storm as I was in Iceland these gloves will not do the job and will become soaked rather quickly. The do take a little while to dry out. Overall Functionality - The index fingers and thumb are not insulated like the rest of the glove. Which does cause some issue. Overall the glove does well to keep the hands warm in temps down to the low 30's anything lower than that you really need a liner. When pulling back the finger and thumb the magnets did a fine job of holding them in place and I was able to manipulate my camera controls. These are a cool weather photographers glove that will protect in wind but not in rain.

They work well but leave your finger tips cold. Be careful the magnet doesn't make you lose one.
These gloves work great. I have an Olympus E-M1 and a Ricoh GR and both are easy to hold and control, and for the most part, they keep my hands warm. One problem with them is that once the fingers are exposed and subjected to the cold, pulling the tips over the fingers doesn't seem to warm them up, and there is always a slight bit of cold air leaking in where the slits are. Also, I almost lost one of them because of the magnets. I got out of my car and put the gloves into my coat pockets. Then I walked into my house. The next morning, I noticed that one of my gloves was missing from my pocket, so I was sure I'd find it outside, somewhere between the garage and my front door. I looked and looked but couldn't find it, so I gave up and went to get into my car. There I found the glove, stuck to the side of my car by the magnet. Apparently the magnet latched onto the car as I was putting the glove into my pocket and, as I walked away, it was pulled right out of my pocket. Take care.

Awesome gloves for photographers
I love these gloves. I used them a LOT when I was the photographer for a DI university, photographing multiple sports, outdoors. Thinsulate is warm and has a small form-factor. Finger and thumb flips are helpful on camera dials. Durable. Not terribly waterproof, but okay in a light drizzle, for a couple of hours.

While the fingertip bits work to expose the index finger ...
While the fingertip bits work to expose the index finger and thumb, the insulation value is nil. I tried using the gloves in 35 degree weather just standing around and my hands were quickly getting cold.

Great idea for cold weather photography
One of the greatest things I have bought for shooting photos in the winter. Having the thumb and finger pop out when needed makes it great for fine adjustments but then you can cover whole hand to stay warm. I think I have three pairs now to put in various places where I need them often. Only downside is that little clip that holds them together is tough to work if your hands are already cold, pretty minor problem so it gets 5 stars still.

Make something that works for photographers.
I got the gloves, next day I went for a test, temperature in Washoe Lake was 20F, my fingers hurt because the insulation did not work. The open tips do not come back to the right position, leaving a gap and this item is not really flexible it tooke me more time fixing things then taken pinctures.
