Untether yourself from your amplifier
Excellent unit. Very low noise. I did look at some of the newer models that work over 2.4Ghz and WiFi, these are generally more expensive probably because of the digital technology involved. My colleagues that use the digital models them tell me they are also power hungry with batteries at the guitar (transmitter) end as well. This unit is UHF, and I assume analogue, not digital. I have wandered around a rehearsal room and been 10 metres away from the amp and it works really well. Not had any problems with it at all. Just follow the level setting instructions which are simple to follow. At the guitar end the clip on the back of the transmitter is a bit tough to open, but the cable is long enough to allow you to slip the transmitter into your back pocket. If you are considering one of these, do note that they come in three frequencies. If someone else has one on the same frequency, I am pretty sure your signal would be going into their amp and vice versa. So check with your band members and make sure your unit is on a different frequency. In my case a colleague has one of these and runs over ISM1. Mine is on ISM2. There is no interference at all. These units run at around 860MHz and therefore a long way from 2.4GHz used for Bluetooth and Wi fi B and G standards. In summary really pleased, and have had no problems with it at all.

Probably the second best musical item I have purchased this year
Probably the second best musical item I have purchased this year. I have been using it all month at most of my Christmas gigs and it has really impressed me and I still haven't had to change the battery. The WMS40 is probably the cheapest wireless microphone system on the market and sounds very much like an SM58 and also so easy to use due to the fact that it just uses one UHF Frequency, just simply plug and play. OK, so there is some handling noise but just leave it on a microphone stand or hold it gently in your hand whilst singing, that works for me. You also soon get used to the switch. I couldn't afford the wireless microphone system I really wanted but I have certainly not regretted my choice and have also put the expensive wireless microphone system on hold for the time being mainly because I simply don't need it now. I did a lot of research on the internet before buying and then took the plunge. They say that you get what you pay for, well I certainly got more for my money than I ever expected. I hope that this review helps you make the right choice. UH

Frequency Clashes
Used this at my gigs in the uk for3 month now . Sometimes as a backup mic. Sound quality is great but you hear every movement with the mic . Also used this when gigging at functions alongside a DJ with his wireless system. Unfortunately I stopped using this mic as it picked up his frequencies and clashed at almost every gig I did with a DJ alongside. Great mic but frequency clashes are let's say .... frequent and with this receiver you can't switch frequencies - get what you pay for !

A superb, quality unit...............
This is a brilliant piece of kit. I'd always been put off going wireless because of the price & quality. However, my previously held conceptions have been changed since I bought this little beauty. The device is very, very easy to set up - just plug all the cables in and away you go. The unit comes with a straight 1/4" jack plug for strat style guitars but I bought an angled cable for my acoustics & Gibson style jack sockets. All in all I'm very impressed with this device. If you want to reduce your cable clutter, then get one of these. Highly recommended.

Excellent wireless system and amazing value for money!
I got these to mic the soloists in a choir I do sound work for. I needed a light, UHF system that could handle 2 or 3 people. After doing some research, AKG seemed to be a well respected brand and this little set seemed to offer what I wanted. I know it doesn't include a mic but it had to be headmics so I planned on getting them seperately. This proved more difficult than expected but Amazon came to the rescue with the http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B000WL4CSS/ref=cm_cr_mts_prod_img which only requires a 1.5V supply instead of 2V. If you're after micing one, two or three people or instruments (I've tried with an acoustic guitar using a cherub pickup and got great results), this is the piece of technology you want. For £265, you can get the ISM1, ISM2 and ISM3 sets for the price of most UHF single bodypack sets.
