Stretch Fit Micro-V Serpentine Drive Belt

Used this to replace the water pump on my 2004 Mazda 6 3.0L V6.This engine originally came with a longer belt and a tensioner pulley. This design has been reported to cause premature cam bearing wear, eventually leading to engine destruction. The fix is to get the belt meant for a 2007 and up Mazda 6 and install it. This is a stretch belt and fits snugly around the pulleys without the need for the tensioner pulley. To install it you simply remove the old belt, then put the new shorter belt around the bottom pulley on the water pump first, then wrap as much of it around the top pulley from the back. Then use a large nylon zip tie to hold it in place through the cutout in the top pulley. Next use the ignition to bump the engine over, but not start it. once the pulley comes around and the belt pops into place, cut off the zip tie and make sure it is aligned. This took mere minutes to do. I also removed the now useless tensioner pulley (which was wearing out anyway.)

I didn't realize it came in a package of two. It fit my water pump pulley on my 07 Ford Fusion V6 just fine although it took some ingenuity to get on.

Still working strong on my 2003 Mazda 6s. I read on forums this belt would be a direct fit and would bypass the belt tensioner, and it did. Super easy to install, make sure you get some zip ties to help with installation.

I installed it on a 2006 Mercury Milan after the water pump failed and I replaced with a new one that I bought also here.You just got to crank the engine to make it go into the pulleys.
