Secret for cleaning clogged filter mesh
I was about to give it a 3 star review because it was clogged after little use and I couldn't get it clean despite washing with soap and soaking in vinegar. I read somewhere to heat it over a gas stove burner to remove the oils. So that's what I did and it worked great! Why don't the manufacturers of these filters tell us that. Since this one has no rubber or plastic it won't be damaged by the heat. Here's how to get the oil out of the tiny mesh pores:1. Set it upside down on a small gas stove burner. (Other heat sources might work too)2. Heat it with low-medium heat until it stops smoking. It might smoke a lot as the coffee oils burn off.3. Flip it over with tongs and heat the bottom until it stops smoking again.4. Let cool and use.I tested mine using 16 ounces of water (no coffee grounds). Before it took 33 seconds to drain the water. After cleaning as described above it took 16 seconds.

Fantastic tasting coffee for a cup at a time.
I love this. I have been drinking coffee since I was a child. I have had the best and the worst coffes found world wide. I chose to buy this because I often want one or two cups of coffee rather than making 8 or 12. I despise wasting food and throwing away 6 or ten cups drives me nuts.I suggest looking online to figure out how to make the best "pour over" coffee, but this pour over dripper works amazingly well and I made the best single cup of coffee I've ever made since using a coffee sock in Puerto Rico. The build is very good, stainless steel, and very light but strong. The mesh is strong and capable of some punishment. Personally I am keeping the box so I have a place to store it in. I just might make a small wooden box to put it in later. The major draw back to this product is that there are no care or use instructions. Clean it every time with a gentle soap and sponge, dry it thoroughly, and store it where it wont get dinged easily.

Clogged filter can be saved!!!! Call customer service!
Just greatUpdate: so my filter clogged as others complained, and soaking did not help. I contacted Arctic and they were great!! They told me to put the filter directly on the burner of my stove and cook off the clogged filter. Finished in dishwasher top rack as directed and it's as good as New!!!!

I decided to try this and I absolutely love it. I don't even grind my own beans
Tired of K-cup coffee and the expense, I decided to try this and I absolutely love it. I don't even grind my own beans, I use my favorite ground coffee and clean the dripper well and quickly after using. I can have a great FULL mug of coffee for pennies instead of more than $1 every day to use two K-cups to get a 16 ounce mug. Quality is not sacrificed at all. So worth the change of process for me and so easy to get my coffee quickly in the mornings. It is great not to have to fumble around with filters...and not to have to buy them! I do recommend getting a pour over kettle. It makes for an easier, more controlled pour. Amazon even had one for an induction cooktop! So, I can truthfully say this pour over coffee dripper is one of my best ever purchases from Amazon. I recommend it heartily to those who, like me, want a great cup of coffee, quickly and easily first thing in the morning!

Doesnt drain w/o filter, with filter takes at least 20 minutes.
Straight garbage. You have to stir the grounds around for it to drain into the cup and even if you do that it takes like 20 minutes. Filters make it like 15 minutes but you can’t stir. Perfect if you enjoy old and cool coffee. I’d buy this and give it to someone I hate. I originally thought this would be good for camping. Not only did it take forever and make for already cool coffee, but it was IMPOSSIBLE to clean. There’s literally no reason to buy this. It is a waste of money, still requires filters, it’s hideous, I just used it again to make sure it was awful and I put it down in the sink 10 minutes ago because I couldn’t wait for my coffee anymore. IT IS STIKL HALF FULL OF COFFEE. I could lay it down on the carpet without fear of staining. That’s how ineffective this is. BUY A PORCELAIN ONE.

Excellent for campers and coffee lovers!
This pour over coffee dripper is fantastic. We paid $10 for this after searching high and low around town for one. We found that the classic kind that require paper filters cost somewhere between $17 and $30 - which we felt was too expensive once you factor in the cost of coffee and filters.I love that this dripper is stainless steel and doesn't require filters! It's environmentally friendly and the coffee actually seems to taste better through this dripper. We bought it to put in our travel trailer so we can have coffee when we are out camping. It doesn't take up much space at all and fits perfectly into our compact cabinets!I put about three spoonfuls of coffee into the basket when making a cup and that seems to be the perfect amount for our coffee flavor strength preference. After I make the first cup, I reuse the grounds to make a second cup - they taste just the same!Definitely recommend this product to campers and coffee lovers in general!

For one or for two this is a great item.
Making my coffee in the morning on my trip to Tn in my van. Worked very well. Easy. Want stronger coffee? Place the coffee maker in a pot instead of on your cup and let it steep instead of drip. Use it for bagless tea the same way. Won’t travel without it and my single burner bunsen stove.

clog easily
This is an excelent product expcet for the difficulty in cleaning it. I do have some biases worth mentioning - I drink a lot of pre ground coffee and I drink a lot of mate. The finer ground particulate matter in the pre ground coffee and mate clog these filters completely. I ended up soaking both of my pour over drippers for three days in vinigar, three days in dish soap, and finally three more days in bleach.... and then had to do this again to get the water flowing. I use disposable filter now, which defeats the purpose of this product, but I'm not willing to spend the time to grind coffee just perfect so I can use these without a filter. I have to go to work at some point.

Bottom mesh is hard to clean, gets clogged, gets useless
It was perfect at first. Then the water wouldn't drain properly during percolation. Turns out the mesh at the bottom was clogged by fine particulates. I experimented with coarser grinds but it was too late. Given the cone shape, it's very hard to get a cleaning tool to reach the bottom and scrub. If it's a hassle to clean, it's not worth keeping around. I since switched to paper filters and will not look back.

Clogged after a couple months
It takes a long time to drip coffee and it will stop working. The filter is clogged after 3 months. so disappointed. Do not buy this product. The coffee filter I bought from a 1 dollar store in Japan works 100 times better than this!
