I read this book for the introductory course in my thesis writing component. I believe that the authors introduced terms in a reasonable way, and provided extra resources for students who wished to learn more. Unfortunately, I knew I wasn't going to be doing action research early on, but I still found that this text contained numerous resources and tools for me to begin developing my research plan.

Bought this for a class. The class is wonderful! The book is a bit dry, but certainly helpful in figuring it all out.
