Is it normal that after you hand wash the cap it goes very hard? Like the gel of the flaxseed makes it hard, what can I do to make it go soft again?

I have never washed my heating cap, even though it says that you can. If you are wear a plastic cap when using the heat cap, that will keep it from getting dirty. But if I were to clean it, I would opt for wiping it down with a towel. Hope this helps!

How do you clean it if it gets stinky?

You need to use a clear cap before putting this product on. You cannot get the cap wet- the flaxseed will absorb water and will become soggy and clumpy

It works. You do need to determine how to heat it for the appropriate heat you want. I have only used mine once but it didn’t give me the amount of heat I desire. I suggest heating it slowly so as not to overheat it.
