Towards the end of the book he provides you with a list and details of wine that you can make. Absolutely perfect for the new home winemaker
I new nothing about wine making when I ordered this book. It is excellent at explaining the process of home winemaking step by step along with the chemisty behind each step and helping you understand what is happening throughout the process. It goes over making wine from kits, juice, and grapes. Explains all equipment you may need from basics to advanced equipment and the ingredients and their purposes, how they work, and why you need them. Great Book all around. I have ordered my equipment kit and first wine kit and feel I am ready to produce my first batch of wine with some confidence and understanding of what ill be doing and why I am doing it. You will not be disappointed with this book. If you're just getting started with wine making at home their is no need for any other book. This one has it all!

the first two years were very good but last year's may yet go down the drain
If you are new at making your own wine, this is the book to read and study. We have bottled three gallons of red for the last three years. Not much work, the first two years were very good but last year's may yet go down the drain. Why? Peragine answers many questions for the beginner on the mysteries of creating wine, details of equipment and tests and step by step procedures. A good reference with lots of interesting tips from professional wine makers.

Middle of the road
As I am new to wine making myself, it is hard to compare to anything yet as this is the first book I have ordered and read. I have only used the Internet to learn making the wine I have so far. I have about 20 gallons experience behind me just from the 2012 season alone and it did help me to understand some mistakes I made. It is very easy to understand and is peppered with comments from different wineries' experiences on what is being discussed in the instant chapter. It does not go into the calculations and the actual physical and more practical remedies for mistakes as I would have like to have seen, but I enjoyed it very much. For instance, my first batch of wine I just used a yeast as suggested by a store owner. Little did I know the yeast dictates sweetness and you have to therefore pick the correct yeast above what yeast can consume in order for the wine to be "sweeter." I recommend this book for beginners, it is a great start.

Good Book for Beginner Winemakers
This is a great book for beginners getting into wine making. It discusses all types of wines and the equipment need to make your own at home. It also covers the pitfalls and problem area one is likely to encounter. I highly recommend this book.

I've really enjoyed reading this book
I've really enjoyed reading this book! I was looking for a book that would help me to gain confidence on how to use a "wine kit" package, that would hopefully end in having a drinkable wine. This book has a whole section on this end of wine making that is quite clear and easy to follow (the steps in making wine from a kit, what to watch out for, what you need, etc.). The book also includes sections that would help anybody that was attempting to make wine from grapes or grape juice, that is not included as part of a wine making kit. This is the only book that I found that "spoke to me" as a real beginner in the wine making hobby...I would not discount the value of "dummy" type books, which also may be helpful.
