In response to ThunderHawk.
When reviewing the controls, ThunderHawk claims, "You can crouch but you can't lay flat on the ground as in MGSV." This is not true. Simply hold down the crouch button to go prone, and you'll lay flat on the ground. Not only that, but you can even move forward in this position, all sneaky like. Give it a try!

Save your life from being wasted
Warning: you will spend crap tons of time waiting on a dog to find the game you're hunting. I mean alot of time. Sucks because you can't just log in and get after it. There is no quick hunt. Boring!!

For patient explorers, a good nature/hunting game with good graphics on PS5 despite its flaws
Hunting Simlulator 2 on PS5 is for patient explorers, and is overall a good game with good graphics on PS5 despite its flaws.Sound: 6/10 Animal calls are good. Ambient sounds of the forest, not great as it sounds like they recorded everything on a windy day or near a waterfall. Especially for forests. I have never heard a noisier forest in my life. Weapons sound realistic. Some foot steps are on a short repeat cycle.Graphics: 7/10 4K resolution that is sharp at a mostly steady 60 fps that dips sometimes with heavy vegetation. The main issue is the graphics are mostly good and sometimes great (the Forest of Europe looks amazing with tons of realistic detail and the best graphics in the game) but also a mixed bag of great to sometimes awful graphics at the edges of the map where you can't travel. Like mixing a PS5 with PS2 graphics here and there for some tree textures, low res tiny branch trees, edges of the map hills that look like PS2 graphics, some square trees with low res textures, low res outfits in the shop (the player outfits looks better in game).Pop In: Some trees and rocks, objects will pop in all of a sudden. A big red boulder in Texas pops up out of thin air.Textures: Some textures are high resolution and impressive, others are downright low res and awful looking. For example, some ground textures look realistic, but look up at the rock mountain and it looks blurry, low res and hand drawn in one region.Realism of Terrain: Most of the grass, bushes, trees, foliage, vegetation and plant life looks pretty good. Some looks cheap like at the edges of the map where the developer didn't care enough to add detail so it looks like a PS2 game in the distance at the map edges. The water looks better than some games, but the ripples look weird and short lived. No rapids at all for streams downhill. I didn't spot any waterfalls.Variety of Terrain: There are some interesting sights that are sometimes epic, but I would have liked to find some caves, more buildings or campsites, more trails, rope bridges, stuff like that.Controls: 8/10 Good responsive controls. You can walk but to run, press in the run button. There's a cool toggle to automatically walk forward if you want. Your character never faces you and is always facing away. Most of the time you'll be walking or running. Morning or evening are the best times to hunt as I hunted during the day and found nothing for an hour plus, just walking. You can crouch but you can't lay flat on the ground as in MGSV.For aiming, there a neat option to aim with the motion controller Dual Sense. The feedback on it is very good too.Camera views: 9/10 +1 stars added for this game offering a 3RD PERSON CAMERA VIEW! Thank you. That's my favorite view as I can actually see the character interacting with the game world, wearing the items I set for their outfit. You have a very nice torso up view, an over the shoulder closer view, and first person view. I use 3rd person most times, but once in awhile go FPV. All views are welcome but 3rd person is great to see. Thank you! Would have liked an extra view: distant 3rd person camera view to get a sense of the character being tiny in the giant world as done in the game Ghost Recon Wildlands on PS4.Gear/Weapons: 8/10 Brand name gear/scents, clothing and weapons. The weapons look real including Bear, Winchester and more. Rifles, scopes, bows, semi rifles, shotguns. No handguns. The clothing choices are nice including gloves, shirts, jackets, pants, boots, hats. The textures on some clothes looks low res awful.Time of Day: 6/10 Set the time of day in the lodge at the bed. Morning, Noon, early evening. But no day night cycle which honestly makes sense in that real hunting at night is forbidden. Even so, a day night cycle is cool as you would have been able to sleep in a tent for more realism. Morning and evening look very similar. Fog as weather, but not much else so far. There is rain that I discovered during day setting. Zero snow so far. Snow is part of the US season for hunting season. So I can understand why it's missed by others too.Game Mode: 7/10 You freely hunt and buy licenses as you see fit. If you don't want to hunt at all other than the forced intro mission, you're free to avoid hunting entirely and just explore the landscapes. No animals have attacked me, they run away. Even cougars. No other mode. At the main lodge which you reach by menu only (you cannot walk to it from the 6 maps), you can explore inside but not go to sleep or sit down, and you can shop at the store on the laptop and change settings. Okay, the update added Ranger mode, but it costs a lot to buy as DLC downloadable content. The Bear Pack DLC is costly too. Neither seem to add new maps.On Foot: 7/10 You have a stamina meter for running, and the controls on foot are good. But no vehicles at all. You cannot swim at all, but can wade in water. You can walk up ramp shaped rocks for more height, and can go into towers, one room cabins but not inside tents. Quick travel only can happen from a tent or back to the cabin which is weird and limiting. If you fall off a rock cliff, you continue to be in a walk pose if you're walking forward and land safely far below without any damage at all. The player is seemingly invincible. No health bar. I'm not complaining about that.Dog: 8/10 Beagle or Labradors (brown, black or yellow labs) and a Pointer dog. All are animated pretty well and mandatory companions, though you can order them to stay and then walk away for awhile. They go after the scent, walk back to you, stay, pet and good dog commands. They'll bark sometimes too. They swim.Maps: 8/10 I like the freedom of the game, offering all 6 maps instantly. 6 giant sized maps to explore. Colorado has a prairie and a forest. Texas has a couple deserts. Europe has a marsh land forest plains area and a forest. It takes a good hour or so to walk/run around the edges of the square map. Very large environments with decent variety and lush forests areas where the trees can be realistically very close to each other as I hoped. Artistically it's not as amazing as The Hunter Call of the Wild on PS4, but this does plenty of things right for scenery. Most times but not always.Character Customization: 6/10 You can switch your clothing and gear, but cannot change the look of your hunter other than picking male or female. This is extremely limited in that sense, so don't expect your hunter to look like you at all unless you're lucky.Options: 10/10 Lots of useful options including controller layout button remapping. Solid options. +1.Developed as a Lower budget Game? YES. The flaws the game has are distracting as mentioned above and reveal this was developed by a small team or studio, but overall, if you're looking for a good exploration game and are a fan of nature, this game is worth checking out.8/10 For a HUNTING GAME, Overall, Hunting Simulator 2 on PS5 is a decent to good exploration nature / hunting game if that is something you're interested in. It's flawed, but has very good points as well.

Boring
Game mode has a tendency to just freeze up at times. If you like boring this is the one. You can just walk around the woods and look at tracks and maybe after an hour you might see one animal that you have a lisc. for. If I wanted real simulation I would just go into the forest and have a mop stick for a fake rifle! Walk around for an hour and would still see more than I do on this boring game.in Summation my PGA Golf game is more exciting!

Unrealistic animal behavior.
Graphics are nice and game is easy to handle but it glitches out quite a bit. Mobility sucks because you can't jump. Animal behavior ruined the game because it's very unrealistic. For example, you wound an animal and it runs for miles without getting slower all while bleeding out.
