Great balance and despite its light weight it works very well on gauges 20 or lighter
I'm using this hammer for chase and repoussé for larger bronze sheet. I find this hammer works very well for the 20 gauge range. I also purchased the HMR-20 which I find to be better suited for 18 gauge bronze. The hammer is beautifully balanced and reduces fatigue quite a bit compared to the cheaper hammers which I had previously. Definitely also want to ensure decent weighted chasing tools/chisels/punches in addition to a good hammer. Disclaimer, I have not used this hammer on anything except bronze yet.

I have been making jewelry for years and years now, and hammered wire is a staple of my work. I have always used the cheap $14 version chasing/ball peen hammers. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR and upgrade to this NOW. It is perfectly weighted and the construction is astounding. You will notice the difference within minutes of using it. Simply cannot recommend this brand enough and will never look back.

Hammer handles well and does what it was manufactured for. Haven't used it a lot so can't attest to the durability but looks to be well made.

My Fretz is on the fritz:-(
The hammer just fell apart on me and I’ve only had it since June of 2018. The head just popped right off the handle. Very bummed because these are not inexpensive.
