Active adapters work with FirePro/AMD cards to multiple displays
I got these for a problem at work that had been causing me problems for months. We had these classroom screen monitors with images form five different PCs. The images were relayed via some software called VADAAR to a PC, which displayed them to the classroom monitors via a FirePro (now AMD) W600 card. I could not get the images to stay fixed. Eventually I read on the internet that the cables needed active adapters. Our system had used mini-DisplayPort to DisplayPort cables, so the installers must have though they did not require adapters. Eventually I found a bit of documentation that said they did. I looked on Amazon, and I looked around the stores at work, but it is difficult to tell by looking at it whether an adapter is active or not. When I saw that these adapters were suitable for EyeFinity, which is something the FirePro cards could be set up for, I was confident they were suitable. It turned out they were because the classroom displays are working now.

Does the job perfectly
I have a miniDP to DVI-D cable which worked perfectly with my Surface Dock and ten year old Dell monitor, but when trying it with a work-supplied 22" screen it did work, even though it worked perfectly from my Surface Pro 4, so all I can do is presume that the Surface Dock is a crap piece of hardware (and it ain't cheap either), hence my purchase of this adapter to use with a DVI cable and hey presto, it just works - plugged it into the Surface Dock, plugged in the DVI cable from the Dell and now I can use the screen with the Dock. Perfect.

Not very well built, and doesnt do what it says it does
I purchased this cable, as i was running out of USB C ports on my macbook Pro, so this allowed me to use my power cable, with the Displayport for my monitor. It worked for about 2 days, before i started hearing sparking noises from the cable... and the display would turn on and off randomly. I didnt really trust it after that, so decided to just use it as a display port cable...About 2-3 weeks later... the screen starts turning on and off again, and flickering sometimes.I just think its built really poorly, and not worth the money i paid for it. Avoid it, and buy a quality product instead.

terrible product
I have two monitors, my PC has a VGA port and a HDMI port but both monitors are VGA. My first monitor is plugged from VGA to VGA no problem so I bought this to plug my other VGA monitor into my HDMI port. Sadly that monitor flashes every 20 seconds, its not the monitor I have swap tested it and its not the port I have tested that with another screen. I am providing power via the included USB attachment but it just doesn't work, I have tried everything. what a waste of money

Very Lightweight Cable
The cable is lightweight and for that reason most useful on a gimbal rig. The picture quality transmitted was excellent, but then it should be as a premium priced cable. However ,......a camera fall and significant tug on the small end and the plug bent and it;s now unusable .I should have used the cable safety I guess.
