AK TRADING CO. Foam Sheet, 4" L X 30" W X 72" H

So, after many reviews and searches, I'm so glad I settled on this foam. Foam is a hard thing to review as it is mostly just personal preference to the degree you like. Some people's firm may be another's squishy..so let's start at quality. This is definitely a nice dense, high end foam. It was a true rectangle, cut smoothly and at the exact measurement of 30x72. That was a big plus for me, as my project required that. The second plus- no smell. What ? I know! I was shocked! Usually with any foam mattress topper I've purchased over the years, I have to leave it outside or open a window in a room for days. Not so with this foam. Now the 3rd plus, for impatient folks, this unrolled and took its shape rather fast. No waiting around to see if it'll expand and to be able to try it out.Ok, now for comfort. This, of course, is completely relative and personal preference. I find it to be perfect for my needs. We built 2 cot sized benches for my son's dude room and made a "sectional" for him. Perfect for gaming with buddies or watching a movie. We wanted something comfortable and multi/purpose, if there was a spontaneous sleepover, which happens frequently when you have a child, they can lay parallel to each other and now they are 30x72 cot sized beds.. so this is where the foam comes into play. For sitting on the sectional- amazing 10 out of 10. Feels like a new couch. Firm, good support, but you still sink in a couple inches without touching the wood base. Ideal! For sleeping- i am going to say 7.5 out of 10. My 10 year old son says 10 out of 10. We slept on it the last 3 nights to try it out. It has some squish factor, but since weight is dispersed laying, I don't sink as much as I prefer, but I am accustomed to a 2" memory foam topper on our bed. I don't wake up achey tho and the foam doesn't seem to run hot. Seeing as our use will be more of a couch situation vs bed, for us - this is perfect. I may pick up a 1" memory foam twin size topper and cut it down myself when they go on clearance at target in Sept after the back to school spell. I think this would make it a 10 out of 10 for all scenarios. For now we have put twin sized fitted sheets over the foam and it works well. We just tucked the extra couple inches of fabric underneath, I would not invest money in official cot sized sheets unless having a taunt smooth sheet sleeping surface ranks high to you. But seeing how this is more for kids, they don't care. Yes, they are a little big for this size foam, but perfect temperarily until I can upholster them. Then when there is a sleepover, a twin sheet can just go on top for easy laundering. Overall, quite pleased with it. I will try to post a pic soon.Update: So.. my son and I have attempted to sleep on these again just recently and have both agreed they definitely need a memory foam topper. Even my son, who doesn't mind sleeping on the floor from time to time. For sleeping, they don't have the give or comfort that we are accustomed to. So I would drop my score down to a 6/10 for sleeping. You would definitely have to love a firm sleeping surface to like this. But since that wasn't the main purpose of our buying the product, but rather for it to be a couch type cushion, it is still 5 stars in our book, because for that- It is amazingly comfortable and perfectly suited in addition to being the perfect size we needed. Be prepared to add a memory foam topper if going to be used for sleeping though. Would still buy again.

This foam is nicely firm but you may want a softer layer on top if you expect it to feel cushy like a soft sofa seat. I can stand on it and sink in about 1.5-2", but to me, that is perfect. This firmness resists "denting" from prolonged use and is soft enough for my greyhounds' boney legs and elbows to sink in comfortably. This piece was meant for a double-wide dog bed for 2 large dogs. I could barely keep the dog off of the foam long enough to work with it, he liked the feel so much.If you lay on it, it feels firmly supportive but soft enough not to have uncomfortable spots under you.It arrived vacuum packed in several layers of plastic but was very easy to open. The foam regained it's normal shape and size overnight. Great price vs other foam stores, and very reasonable shipping! This type of foam usually costs me around $100 with shipping from other vendors.

I purchased this tapenglue 4" foam sheet to sleep on. I have a very nice pillow top mattress but I also have a very screwed up lower back. I've had 5 back surgeries since 1998. Long story short I can't lay down on my bed because any pressure on my lower back is unbearable so I ordered this pad, put it on my side of the bed, laid on it and then marked the area where it touched my lower back. I then cut a hole 4" wide and 10" long all the way through it and now I sleep like a baby !!!Wish I had thought about this many years ago !!

Amazing packaging. Nice firm piece of foam. I used it to make a outdoor daybed cushion.

Using in converted minivan camper. This firm foam is perfect as a base under 3" memory foam for my bed. They cut it to my size specs perfectly, packaged very, very well, and stayed in touch, ready to fix anything that might be wrong. But it was exactly what I was hoping for. Great company, great product. Highly recommend!

Half the price of joanne fabric and a great product. Very easy to cut. Super comfortable to sit on.
