This is a rare giant size Peacock hand warmer. It is the World's most famous hand warmer and the inventor of this type of hand warmer since WWII. Gives comfortable continuous heat for up to 24 hours on a single filling. These heat generating pocket sized warmer are great for anybody who spends time in the cold. Platinum catalyst flameless technology ensures easy lighting and stable temperature from beginning to the end. Made of polished chrome plated copper, which does not rust like steel. It includes a carrying case. Buy one for each pocket or coat and never be chilled in the cold again. The Peacock hand warmer is the ideal gift for the hunter and fisherman, and anyone that enjoys the outdoors in the winter. The hand warmer can also be used in the event of an emergency and should be part of every winter survival kit. This is probably the best hand warmer in the world. The other types of hand warmer are disposable (expensive, relatively short heating time, too small to keep warm for a large hand) and the reusable type (hot to cold in only 1 hour, need to wrap it in towel to boil in water for 15 minutes to recharge). This is the best and most elegant type of hand warmer. Heating Duration: Giant Size - 24 hours at 160F Dimensions: Regular Size- 4.5"x3"x0.8" Heating Element - Platinum Catalyst technology, 5000 hours heating life. Peacock has the best heating element. Temperature and Time Tests
I recently bought the Giant due to failure of one of my 2 Zippo's to stay lit, even though fairly new. I concur with others, the Giant lights and stays lit much better. Many reviewers found the "in-bag" run time met or exceeded the 30 hours claimed. I ran an "out of bag" test, getting only a 11.25 hour burn outside at 40 F, but it warmed to 122 F on the metal surface. Inside at 69 F, it warmed to 139 F. Definitely too hot to touch inside! Initially, I could barely touch it outside, until it cooled down a little from my cold hands. It started at an empty weight of 3.3 ounces, filled weight of 4.3 oz, and 3.4 oz after burning out. This is filled to the maximum, about 3.5 fills to the top line. This is more than recommended, so I tested for overfill by putting it upside-down for 10 minutes, then "whipping" it downward (without the burner) to make sure no excess fluid came out. You don't want it to leak in your pants when you are jogging! So with .9 oz fill (roughly 1.1 fluid ounce), I calculate (from fuel BTU) 26 watts out-of-bag, or 52 watts for the pair.I burn 92 watts when sleeping (per tables), and warm my winter tent 5 degrees above outside temp when sleeping, So I might as well continue to burn them (in a tent pocket) after in-pocket use, and and gain about 3 degrees inside the tent.If you snuff it out like I do in a plastic bag, you can only guess at how full it is initially. So again, always test for overfill by holding upside down (no burner) for a few minutes, then whipping downward to test for overfill. You don't want fuel soaked pants!Norwester

Korean made "Peacock", seems much like the original.
The Giant size is bigger than the standard for sure and it seems to put out more heat. It is made of the same gage metal as the smaller unit so this makes the metal burner cover not fit as tight. You will want to keep this in its bag for safety while it is in use. Make sure to read the fine print as there are several fake Chinese made "Japanese Peacock" hand warmers out there. I have an original standard size Peacock, made in Japan and now I have this Korean made "Peacock". Only time will tell if it is as good as the original Japanese Peacock. The company claims to be the Peacock company.1. Arrived quickly.2. Is larger than the standard size.3. The burner cover does not fit as tightly as on the standard unit.4. The bag is thick but lacks a hanging cord. It does close with velcro.5. Comes with a filling funnel.6. The metal is the same gage as the original, not thicker.7. The burner is larger, not just the fuel capacity.8. It was easy to light once filled.9. It comes with a very detailed compact instruction sheet, not in English.

Best handwarmer I've tried
Let me start by saying, I have several Zippo handwarmers that are used regularly and I've been pretty happy with them....although trying to get them lit when below freezing and in the wind can be a challenge. The Peacock is my new ABSOLUTE FAVORITE!!!. It's method to fill the handwarmer is far superior to zippo's (both the old version and the new version with the hole in the fill area). More importantly, the Peacock lights quickly. With only 2 seconds of flame from a bic lighter it will activate. Finally, it is about 20% warmer than the zippo. It does cost more than the zippo (about 60%), but due to the larger size, longer run time, greater heat output, better build quality, and better fill process, I'd say its worth the extra money.

box says it runs for 30 hours, but does not say how -- see the review below for details
I got one of these units last week and tried it before a planned winter outing. It started up perfectly, no issues, and ran nice and warm ... but only for about 3 or 4 hours. A second attempt yielded the same result. Others here have reported the same problem.I asked for a replacement unit and Amazon swapped it out for me right away. Props. But the replacement unit does the same exact thing as the original. The smaller Zippo model I got at Walmart for half the price of this one says it'll run for 12 hours on a full fill of fuel as measured for that unit -- and it does. I don't think the problem here is me.Same fuel used, by the way: Zippo 4 oz lighter fluid, about $2 at the Walmart. To figure out what is really going on here, I decided to experiment to see what the instructions should say if they were written correctly. $2 worth of fuel is an investment in science. The bottom line is: for each 'full' filler indication of fuel, on this 'Giant' size warmer, you get about 5 hours of run time.Example... If you want 15 hours of time, leave the filler in place ... fill it then rotate the filler 90 degrees, each time, times three. Three times five is fifteen.Yes, it's that simple, and yes, the manufacturer needs to state this, in the local language of wherever they are trying to sell this device. I don't feel badly I sent the first one back even though there wasn't anything wrong with it. Not including correct, local-language instructions with a product in the year 2022 is really lame.Disclaimer: I was not compensated for this review and bought all this stuff myself.

Puts Out The Heat
This thing is definitely LARGE and it puts out the heat (you definitely MUST put it in the fabric pouch). One thing that wasn't clear is once it's lit you don't have an easy means to put that out. In otherwords, this is not something you flip on and off. I found you CAN stop it from heating but you'll need a nice kitchen oven mitt to pop the wick off. Also of note, as of the current year (2020) you can carry this onto a plane - it cannot be placed in checked luggage. As I travel to bird in colder climates, it's nice to be able to bring this along. The down side is, if you run out of fuel you have to be somewhere to buy more.
