Gianna's Home 12 Piece Modern Melamine Heavyweight Plastic Dinnerware Set (Blue)

Vibrant color, seem durable, cleaned up well in dishwasher.Happy with purchase. Can minimally see seems where plastic was melted together. One piece has a white piece of plastic that stands out from bright blue. It doesn't take away from the quality of product, just annoying to look at.

I bought these (in blue) to replace another set of melamine dishes that, after 4 years, were starting to show signs of wear/chipping in the clear coat and were probably no longer safe to use. My favorite thing about them is that the bowls are shallow enough that you can easily nest them in every slot in the dishwasher. The set I replaced was similar, but the bowls were deeper, and I ended up losing a lot of space because they could only be spaced two slots apart. These bowls appear to be designed with dishwasher space optimization in mind, and I saw that some other reviewer had mentioned that their dishes blistered in the dishwasher, but that hasn't happened to me. I've had these in daily use for 6 months and they've held up great in the dishwasher, so I supposed YMMV.As noted, these are not microwave safe, and we never use them in the microwave.Similarly, we never use these dishes when we need to pull out the good steak knives, either. We pull out the ceramic for that. These are great for nights when we eat on the patio, because they're light enough to carry a full stack at a time, and heavy enough that the wind won't blow them away. They're melamine, I don't expect them to hold up forever, but for what they are, they're great. I hope to get 3-4 years of life out of them, and will probably replace them with another set from Gianna's, if they're still around by then.

The plates & bowls have a very nice weight to them. I really like the color. However several of the plates and a couple of the bowls arrived with a grained glaze/haze as if they missed a step in sanding during the finishing process at the factory. I tried to wash it off and was partially successful but 4 of the 8 plates and two of the bowls are still rough. One of the dinner plates arrived with the bottom blistered and discolored. I bought these for my RV to have a shatterproof set of dishes that did not feel flimsy and would look nice. These have promise and as I pack these up to ship back to Amazon, I hope the replacement set will be better.

I’ve only used these a few times but so far they clean easy (dishwasher) and look great.

I like light, durable dinner ware-- always loved Corelle ware. My wife prefers stoneware. I would never have considered “plastic” dinnerware, but I have several Melamine serving plates I love. I carve steaks and roasts on them, even using an electric knife and they held up great. I came across Melamine dinner ware and figured I’d give them a try. They are great. Looks like stoneware, but much lighter and durable. After a couple months of use there are still no scratches. The bowels are also great. Perfect for cereal and soup. They are microwave safe and do not conduct the heat too bad.

Can NOT be put in microwave. Bought for rv travel and failed to read that they were not safe for microwave. Otherwise they are perfect.

I bought mine used like new, one bowl had a blemish that’s ok. I purchased for my tv. They will work fine however the color doesn't look like advertised. I purchased the brown it has a pink tint.Not what I wanted.

I like that these dishes can be put in the dishwasher, unlike other melamine dishes. So far, no problem with that. The only negative is that the border color. Is off center on several pieces. If I could exchange just those pieces, I would. Guess I’ll have to learn to appreciate the imperfections. I’m sure that the coloration won’t affect the durability.
