I just wish I had more of these

While not an end-all, be-all solution for every fastener encounter, this socket set should cover a good portion of the most common fastener needs that the typical homeowner / non-pro is likely to encounter. Upon initial receipt and inspection, I find this set to be lacking spark plug sockets and an extension (or two) but otherwise a decent basic socket set. I'm going to knock a 1/2 star off for the omission of what I consider to be a few basic pieces. I'm also going to knock another 1/2 star off for the socket holders that come with the set. While it is wonderful that the set comes with some sort of organization to keep the set tidy, I'm not entirely sure that we are meant to keep and use them as such. They lack a little bit of... finish. They're a little rough looking. Even with a less than finished look and feel, they'd be useful... if they were successful at actually holding the sockets. It seems as if the sockets were just meant to roll around loosely in your tool bag. Taken altogether, that's enough to cost the set that 1/2 star. That said, I may try something like the ARES 71238/71236 holders to see if they'll do the trick (Will update if I find a decent solution). With that out of the way, I just need to put some use on them and see how the do and how they hold up over time. I will update if necessary.

This Crescent 25 piece 3/8" Drive Pass-Thru socket set is just what I needed to complete a transmission fluid change (pan removal) on my vehicle. The low profile was perfect for the very confined space I had to work in. The 1/4" bit socket was perfect for holding a 1/4" T40 Torx bit and it got me out of a jam. I always wanted a pass-thru set and this one checked the boxes. Pleased with the quality, especially for the price point. The (black) finish seems nice. The description stated that it is "painted". It looks more like black chrome to me. Pleased with the purchase. A nice find.

I bought this set so that I could use the pass-thru feature on long bolts. It works great for that! But here is something that is a pleasant surprise: The ratchet is 17 mm with C-clamp inside, and as a result it works perfectly with the Astro Tools 3/8" nano sockets. The sockets snap into the Crescent ratchet and are tightly held. I am super happy about that since I use the Astro sockets all the time and it is good to have a proper ratchet for tighter spaces and this Crescent ratchet works perfectly for that.

Works well, good quality

Well, this ratchet just didnt meet my expectations. So I sent it back. Not sure about the durability or the feel after break in. I was really hoping to be able to use these sockets with one of my flex head ratchet wrenches, but as it didnt have any hex to drive it. So I stuck one of the sockets into the wrench to see how the action felt, and it was crusty with quite a bit of backlash. Upon aptempting to remove the socket... Nope couldn't get it out by hand, and nearly couldn't retrieve it with the knipex twin grips! For me that is just too tight an internal snap ring. Just had another brand flex head 19mm pass throughs snap ring break in two for that reason... And so I don't trust it. Anyways... I dunno, this one just didnt work out for me.

Tut was es soll und sollte in jedem Werkzeugschrank liegen.Eine Halterung der Nüsse sollte allerdings standardmäßig dabei sein. Klare Kaufempfehlung.

Excellent quality, only used it a handful of times so far, but impressed with build quality and ratcheting mechanism. This is the level of quality I have came to expect from Crescent.
