Perfect for gas bbq, easy clean & non stick

Brough this as the notorious veg burgers are always breaking apart on my bbq, meaning they get charred onto the grills. with this mat i found that they dont break up as much and also leave quite a nice grill pattern on food. BUT saviour when it comes to cleaning, last bbq we had i used these and clean up only took 15mins as opposed to the original time of 45 minutes most of which would be spent scrubbing my grill with a wire brush.

For my barbecue

The so called non stick black coating melted and started smoking exposing the metal underneath it. As it contaminated the food being cooked on it, we had to throw the food away

These mats are made of some sort of plastic/nylon and melt when exposed to heat producing black smoke and leaving black plastic residue on hands/foodThis product is dangerous and hazardous to health from what I can see.I was dubious when I got them out of the pack that they felt like plastic so before putting them on the griddle hovered the corner of the mat over the coals for less than 10 seconds and it started to smoulder producing black smoke so I immediately removed it and touched the melted corner of the mat and it left a thick black residue on my fingers. I put them straight back in the pack so fortunately the BBQ was saved.I'm not sure what went wrong here but does not seem fit for purpose.
