The camera is pretty good but the LEDs around it are not bright enough in dark areas.
The software works well and the camera takes clear images IN GOOD LIGHTING. However, I tried using the camera to look down between rafters over a finished basement room and had trouble. It seems the camera does not take good images in poor lighting. AND the LED lighting around the camera lens just does not do the job. I had the LEDs turned up as bright as they would go. I found I could shine a bright flashlight to supplement the LEDs and then got a good image. But the idea of this endoscope is to be able to squeeze it into tight and dark spots. Now I must plan on trying to light up any area I want to inspect. That means getting a light into the tight space along with the endoscope. Not good. I'll keep it but the prospect of it doing well on its own is slim.

It works, not perfect.
First of all it works on my machine, plugin the USB and run the app inside the dvd and the image show up instantly. No searching, no detecting, no installation.Second, the cord is too soft to push far down the sewer line. I can only push about 6 ft. Maybe I should better to make it straight before push in or tie it to a snake and use the snake to push it down the line.It need to have a stronger cord to perform well in sewer line. Maybe it could be used on inspecting other stuff in your house.I bought it about night dollars, so I don't expect it to work really well, just curious about the condition of my sewer line. I know what I am going to expected. If your drain is in really bad condition and need to identify the problem, you better hire plumbing company. Don't expect a night dollar camera would be as good as their camera which costs couple hundreds.========UPDATE========Tie the head with my snake, it can reach out about 20 ft down to my sewer line. Cannot see very far but at least it works. The video consumes tons of hard disk space.

Does the job...with a little help
The camera itself is fine, pretty decent picture. The problem is light, that is, not enough of it with the four small led's that come with it. At least not for a sewer pipe, looking for roots. That being said, i am pretty happy with the results once I also strapped on one of those small, cheapy 9-led flashlights to light the way for the camera. The whole scene was pretty disgusting down there once I got to the trouble point - fibrous roots sticking in from all directions, some living creatures about (worms) doing their thing, and, on the bottom of the pipe....let's just call it sludge getting plowed by my little camera/flashlight combo. Well at least now I know what it looks like down there, not sure what to do about it...BTW, probably would suggest a coating of silicone caulk on on possible leak points for both the camera and any auxiliary flashlight you may employ. And, of course, make sure it's all well secured to whatever snake or rod you use to push it down there with.

Pretty good little camera...
This camera is actually pretty good. I think the picture is clear and bright. However, when I tried to use it in a sewer pipe to try to see if roots or anything else was clogging the pipe, I was unable to see clearly. I'm guessing this was because the pipe was rather large. Also, in order to get the camera to maneuver through the pipe, I had to tape it to a drain snake because the camera wire is too flimsy to feed by itself. Oh...and one more thing....it would be fantastic if this were able to connect to a cell phone or tablet, but I couldn't get it to work with mine...even with an adapter, and I tried SEVERAL different apps, to no avail. That may be the biggest issue I have with this product. Overall, though, I'm pretty surprised by this little camera and I'm sure it will come in handy for something in the future.

It was "allright"
It worked, but not well.I got this to pair with some fish tape/fish rod's to use in fishing cable through a crawlspace in the house. A few notes:1. It seems you have to use the CD that came with it to view anything. It partially loaded on two Win7 PCs but I couldn't view in VLC. Attempting to view in VLC would cause the device to disconnect and reconnect endlessly.2. It did work a little bit at first once I installed the ViewPlayCap software from the CD, but after a little bit of use the picture started to fuzz out tremendously. This made it unusable. I checked the camera head and found the camera sensor and all LED's had moved off to one side. The only way to correct this was to knock it up against something hard.3. Picture quality was "allright". It definitely had a very short focus point.4. The cord is floppy which really hurts the ability to run it in most situations that I could use it in. I thought attaching it to fish tape would help but the cable tangling negated that.
