worked good last I used these. I presently do not use these, as I am using a continuase monitor system. on the contiuase monitor system. we need more competitive pricing, more copetition. on the sysems, and definitly on the sensors. wish there were generics, and generics that worked well. one thing about the Lances, they all worked well, and were cheap.

This lancet device lets you dial the depth of how far the needle will penetrate into your fingertip. I had a similar one that came with the TrueMetrix Go glucose monitoring kit and I loved it. I keep the Go kit in my purse for when I'm not home but wanted another lancing device like that for my regular TrueMetrix kit at home. In comparison to the first one I had (black) this one here (grey one) is slightly longer but otherwise very similar. It does not have the button on the back that shows the device is "loaded" and ready to be used but that's not really a problem. You just load it the same way (by pulling back on the handle) and then push the button to activate the needle to be deployed.I have had some pretty bad luck with the single-use types of pressure-activated lancets (like the green and white one in the first picture). One brand was so bad that over half of them never deployed but left my fingers bruised. What a waste of money!The TrueMetrix spring-loaded refillable lancet pens are more reliable and are more economical. The lancets to refill the device can be purchased for relatively cheap at most pharmacies, drug stores and Walmarts that sell diabetic supplies. Due to ther small size, the boxes of lancets don't take up nearly as much room as the single-use pressure-activated lancets.The major selling point for the TrueDraw lancet pen is that I can choose the needle penetration depth to suit my needs. I usually use the Number 3 setting. If I'm having trouble getting blood to flow I'll go higher. Sometimes the blood flows easy enough that the Number 2 setting will be sufficient.

The log book was a definite plus, but honesty I had tried those mini lancets and a much more expensive lancet pen through my insurance and THIS $10 one was the one that worked every time. And you cannot beat the price! Plenty of lancets and the book will help you track the results!
