8" Ball and Chain - Medieval Replica - Wedding Gag Gift - Black

This is the real deal. It is made entirely from metal. The ball is hollow steel so it isn't overly heavy but it could be filled with concrete or bird shot if someone wanted to make it heavier. The chain was long enough that our bachelor could hold the ball while walking from place to place. The shackle looks to be a replica of something out of the 1800's. There are only two ways to open it, with the key or a hack saw. Our bachelor was able to keep it on for a whole evening of partying and dancing. We did shift it from one leg to the other just so his leg wouldn't take to much abuse. The shackle should be worn so that the lock cylinder is on the inside of the ankle and the chain attachment point is on the outside of the ankle.

I bought this for my friend's bachelor party. This thing is real metal. There is a seam in the ball, but that's not a big deal. The chain was fine, and overall it held up to some good abuseHOWEVER, the foot clasp is too small. It was difficult to get it around my friend's ankle and he's not the biggest guy in the world (he's a runner). It was a big hit for about 15 minutes before it started to dig in and bruise him, at which point we had to take it off. Also, the chain is just a little short if you are looking to carry this around all night.Overall, the materials are excellent. If you are willing to take a hammer and make the ankle ring a little more round, and maybe add some chain, it could be a great bang for the buck.

Hosted a bachelor party for my friend and this ball and chain was the perfect asset to it. The ball, chain and shackle are real iron (the shackle especially was impressively thick and heavy) and it had weight enough to it that it was inconvenient, but still tolerable for an entire day of drinking.Only a few downsides:- The chain can unscrew from the ball rather easily (we had to keep putting it back on once my friend realized this)- The chain is a little too short. Normally you want the chain long enough so the wearer can physically carry the ball around instead of dragging it everywhere- The shackle is very small. My friend is of moderate/large leg size and it was really tight around his ankle. Non-the-less, he wore it for the entire day so it couldn't have been that bad!Highly recommend for a bachelor party. It made for a fun and interesting night!

Came with paint falling off because the ball part was rusty and not welded right. I can't open the chain cuff also

We had to pin the groom to put it on him, but with the all-metal construction and the locking ankle bracelet it managed to survive the whole night of partying. Beware of your shins! Some grooms might not pick up the ball (the chain is a little short for that), so unsuspecting drunk friends may end up with bruises. Our groom had no pity for us since we locked this on him.While it is metal the chain is not terribly strong, so don't expect it to hold up to someone who seriously wishes to remove it. Also, the ankle bracelet was a bit of a tight fit over jeans and I can imagine on larger grooms it wouldn't fit at all. At the end of the night the ball was dented and heavily scratched from concrete and asphalt, so I wouldn't use it twice.

Purchased this for my buddies bachelors party. After reading the reviews I laughed thinking how funny it would be for my buddy to have this strapped to his leg going from place to place. I wasn't impressed.First of all, if you're a larger guy this will not fit around your ankles comfortably. We locked it on, took a couple pictures and he said it was actually hurting him where he couldn't wear it so we took it off. Then we thought to put it around his wrist, but he was able to slip out of it easily.Also, the ball isn't heavy at all.Overall, I give it minus 3 stars for these reasons:- to lock/unlock you have to turn it several times, its not a simple "lock and key"-the chain isn't that long, so if you're 6 foot: you will not be able to carry it easily.-the circumference is a little small for people with larger ankles-the weight of the ball is not what the other reviewers make it seem.

I bought this ball for my buddies bachelor party. The chain was a little weak and knowing that the bachelor was going to resist its installation, I welded a heaver chain to it.After pinning him down, he pounded it off of the drive way and tried every which way to get it off. The lock held and worked great. We were passing the key around all night so only one of us knew who had it at any given time.We made him wear it while partying in Cleveland all night. The reward was all kinds of free drinks, and at one point he was using it as a skip-it on the dance floor.Turned out to be one of his greatest memories and now loves that we made him wear it. I believe it is in storage for when his brother gets married.

My boyfriend and I bought this for our friend's bachelor party this coming weekend. We chose to purchase this item out of all the others listed as it states that the chain is 26" long. We were very disappointed when we received this item and there was only an 18" chain. We wanted a longer chain as we didn't want to have him drag it around all night, we want him to be able to hold it as he goes from bar to bar. The over all product was great, but the chain needs to be longer, especially since it is stated that it is.
