It's retaining odor of oil and vinegar based marinade. Washed twice, still smells. Any suggestions?

If you have stainless pots, try brushing it over the stainless making sure to use good pressure so each bristle touches the stainless. The iron in steel is a natural attractant to odors. That's why stainless bars work to remove odors from your hands. I just brush mine against the steel while I'm washing my pots. Works good!

Best way to handwash??? I have a norpro silicone bristle and the base is always hardest to clean, any ideas for how to clean this brush?

I use "OXO Good Grips Soap Dispensing Palm Brush" with a little dawn and hot water. not bad to clean by hand!

Yes, it is. The bristles are silicone, which is generally heat resistant to about 450 degrees or so. I'm not sure about what the handle is made out of, so be careful to not rest it against the heating surface. I use this for buttering a hot waffle iron at least once a week--it works great!
