Offerings: Buddhist Wisdom for Every Day Hardcover – October 1, 2003

Not only are there many beautiful Buddhist sayings and photographs of life in the Himalayas, but it caused me to get books by some of the people who are quoted, such as Arnaud Desjardines and Jack Kornfield. They make great gifts; I've given three away so far. It's a great start for anyone just beginning to learn about Buddhism.

i love , love this book. The photographs alone tell the story of humanity and the quotes are always appropriate... It is my favorite book and has been for many years. If all of us had this book and read it daily , acceptance of humanity could flourish ..

I have bought about 24 of these, so far, as individual and very personal gifts for people who are meaningful to me. Most of them are also using the book daily as a reminder that all is not about fighting the beast, or an amusing little wine. For me it helps to soften anger, widen the space for grieving, open the space for joy -- mostly remind me that this moment, right now, is precious and I should enjoy it and then get over it. I treasure it. it sits in front of my microwave -- now there's a paradox -- and sets in in a more forgiving, less harried or anxious place as I begin each day. I have been especially touched by the value placed on it this past year by a friend who has recently died, and who also used it daily. A treasure. And one to use again each year.

This is a beautiful book. I highly recommend it. Also, I believe it said the condition was poor, or something less than good, but the only issue was that the spine was separating from the pages and that was an easy fix. What I'm saying is that the seller is fair and honest and I'm very pleased with my order.

When I ordered this much desired book, I had no idea it would be in such terrible condition or that it was the only one left. Upon receipt of the damaged book, I took it to a book binding repair shop and they wanted between $75.00 and $100.00 to repair--the binding was completely separate from the book and it was torn in several spots. The seller offered me a mere $5.00 with seemingly no further negotiations available. He complained about the cost of shipping. I took the $5.00 and bought some special tape and taped it up as best I could. So, what was intended as a book to enjoy and display was not to be. I will not purchase a used book again, as the seller has all the control.

I was very pleased to receive when I received this book. I had a worn copy that fell apart and I looked to buy a new copy. To my dismay it is no longer published. The book was rated in good condition. I was thrilled when it arrived. It was in wonderful condition. Thank you so much!!

I discovered this book at a counseling center and found it to be a must have. Both the thoughts and accompanying photographs are reflective and encouraging.

This is a book to read every day for many years. It's a treat every morning to look at a breathtaking picture of Tibet and read a wise saying by Buddhist masters. The photographs create a sense of infinite Himalayan grandeur of that stark and gorgeous terrain of rock, snow and beautiful people --the young and the old and always with a twinkle in their eyes , awakening wonder in me of a world so harsh in many ways but with inspired people with an active worship. Great book with a page to turn every day of the year and I am on my second year. I have given it to many friends whether they are Buddhists or not and they find it special and enduring in its beauty and wisdom. .

We have it in our kitchen and look at each day it presents.

A really gorgeous book, every day shows not only a thought provoking quote, but a beautiful photo that relates to it. Anyone interested in Buddhism will love this!

Great coffee table book, lovely photos and great thoughts

The photography is moving, the short, daily wisdom offerings slow us down if only briefly. On each page we are blessed to be offered a moment of mind, body and soul connection.
