While it appears to shut down, the unit actually goes into sleep mode if there is no input signal. As soon as an input signal is sensed, it "magically" turns itself on, and works fine.I rated the equalizer 3 star because I haven't had a chance to use it yet.David

Unlike most reviews about this product regarding its automatically shutting down that I read before purchasing, there is no problem in my device. The unit is working very well. I have another 15 band equalizer (ART) that I use it in my rackmount guitar processors. I can say that this gemini dj EQ2 has the same quality compared to my ART equalizer. I actually use gemini dj EQ2 for my sound system (Yamaha stereo integrated amp to this equalizer and then to emotiva XPA-200). at least I can say this is a great product for using in audio system setup. No shutting down, no standby mode. I am wondering what was the problem with other customers units? may be the problem is solved by manufacturer.

Dead on arrival. After turn on, unit turn off after 30 seconds. The bad news is this same problem was reported in for others buyers in Amazon and in the web. How can they continue selling products with systemic failure reported ? Please withdrawn !!

this new gemini eq-2 has some manufacturer issues... i bought three units, all from different web sites, and all of them had the same problem... these units are built vary good, but there is a manufacturer problem... these units shut down by themselves after 30 or more seconds without you turning them off.. gemini needs to make sure that quality control is in place before shipping these units to the consumer... over all, if gemini fixes this issue these equalizers would be a good addition to any system...

was a Christmas present and right out the box , it did not work.
