What you see is not what you're going to get.
I bought one of these previously for 7 bucks from a different store. The only thing I didn't like about it was the cheesy plastic collar that's supposed to fasten the hook and magnet. So I came across this item and it's clearly pictured to have a groove around the base of the camera that the hook and magnet snap into so I figured I'd order it because it looks more practical. I opened the box to find the exact same setup I ordered the first time around. So I payed double the price for the exact same thing in a different box. The scope itself is great, works very well. But what you see in the pictures on this listing is NOT what you'll get. Don't get suckered like I did. Save yourself a few bucks and buy from someone who's honest.

A Very Handy Device
A few winters back, I had a sump pump backup and had a plumber look into the cause. He concluded that a) water may have frozen in the outside line or b) there is some other blockage in the line. He wanted to charge me two hundred and fifty bucks to run an endoscope very similar to this through the line. He said that was the only way to know for sure what is caused the backup. Since the issue resolved itself, I concluded it had to be frozen water and I declined the pricey service. I decided to use the money would be better spent towards buying good commercial-grade pvc pipe and properly laying the pipe below the frost line.My hunch about the blockage was correct and I haven't had any issues with water freezing in the sump pump line since I put in the new pipeline but that doesn't mean other issues don't come up from time to time. This waterproof endoscope is a handy little device to have around the home because I never know when I might drop something down the sink or need to inspect a clogged drain or garbage disposal. For sixteen bucks this endoscope is an awesome deal that I recommend and here is why...01 Plug and Play - I have been using the endoscope exclusively with my laptop. The operating system on my laptop is Windows 7 x64 and all I need to do is plug in the endoscope and it is instantly recognized and ready to use. No driver downloads are needed. All that is needed is a free USB slot.02 Easy To Use - A software cd is included but I didn't bother to download the software. I am able to operate the camera just fine with the Cyberlink YouCam software that I already have installed on my laptop. I just go into the YouCam settings and change the capture device from my webcam to USB 2.0 camera.03 Waterproof - A device like this would be worthless to me if it wasn't waterproof. I have been playing around with this for the last couple weeks and can confirm it is indeed waterproof. I had this down drains and even fully submerged it inside the toilet tank and it is still working.04 Decent Illumination - The six LED lights do a decent job of illuminating small dark crevices and the inside of pipes. The lights from the endoscope only shine outwards a few inches but it provides enough light to see in totally dark areas and capture a decent although slightly grainy image.05 Good length - The cable is 4'9" which is too short for large commercial jobs like inspecting long sewer lines but the size is good for home use.06 Bonus Stuff - The endoscope comes with a tiny hook, magnet, and mirror that you can attach to the end of the camera. They are nice additions but I probably won't ever use them. If my wife drops a ring down the sink, I am going to use the endoscope to confirm the ring is still in the pipe and hasn't been washed out to the sewer line. Then I would remove the u-pipe and fetch the ring which is lot quicker to do than to go fishing for the ring with a tiny hook.I received this free for testing and review.

Great for the money!
Work well for the money, but wish the wire was a little more rigid. If you try to, let's say, stick it up into a ceiling to look around, it just folds in on itself instead of being able to fish it through the entire length.
