Just plain works!
I bought this remote to attach to my Android box that I use as a media client (Plex, Kodi, Netflix, Prime, etc.). The particular setup I have actually has an IR receiver built onto the board, but I tried several times to get it to work to no avail. Either way I figured I would give this remote a shot, and if it worked as people have said, I could then program my harmony remote to it, and have everything controlled all in one place.Well this was a fantastic move, it worked perfectly! And thanks to Sal G. who posted that the remote was a "Chinavasion CVSB-983" in the harmony software, I can now control my Android box from my harmony remote!Quick Pro/Con list:Pros:1. Cheap2. Small, and has a decent cable length3. It just works!Con:1. Mouse control does not really transfer to other remotes (it can be learned, but its clunky). This doesn't bother me, but it may bother others2. Numbers are T9 style (think non-smart mobile phone) only reversed, so letters are first. There may be a work-around for this, but it makes number input impossible in certain apps.

Nice remote for Raspberry Pi
Bought this to control a Raspberry Pi running OpenELEC XBMC. Plugged in the USB receiver and it just worked without any further intervention on my part. The remote works well, mouse functions, and mouse buttons worked very well. Range was not a problem for me, the remote worked well from about 20 feet away.I was able to program my Logitech Harmony remote to duplicate this remote by telling the Harmony software it was a Chinavasion CVSB-983 as suggested by another reviewer. (Thank you, You saved me a lot of aggravation!) The backspace button had to be "learned" by the Harmony remote (this button is a MUST if you're using XBMC), and I couldn't get the right/left mouse buttons programmed into the Harmony at all, no matter what I tried. This is an annoyance, but I don't know that I can really fault this remote when it was an inability of the Harmony remote to learn the commands.

Good for Odroid micro board with LibreELEC and KODI, better than a micro keyboard for everyday control by far!
I ordered this for an Odroid 2GHz micro board (faster and better for LibreElec than the Raspberry Pi3B) and it has exceeded what I thought I would get. Yeah, it is not bluetooth but the IR works very well. I like the cursor feature; holding down the cursor buttons makes that cursor mover quickly across the screen in a straight line. Much better than the cursor on a micro keyboard. The PAUSE feature and FFWard and FRewind feature really work well with Kodi. The volume control is smooth, not like my micro keyboard where I have to press repeatedly to turn down the volume in steps. I would add Linux to the Operating System compatibility. NOTE TO MANUFACTURER; WINDOWS is not an APPLICATION, it is an OPERATING SYSTEM. An application would be WORD, EXCEL, POWER POINT.For the money, I am very happy with this unit. I bought a second to give to a friend with the RP3 box running LibreELEC that I made for him. Great little remote.

It's ok but not a great htpc remote
I used this for only a couple of weeks and decided to give it to one of the kids and buy a flirc and use an old dvd remote instead for my htpc. It is lacking features, doesn't have a very good range, you have to be pointed right at the usb receiver and it is touchy on some of the buttons. Seems very cheaply made. The mouse directional buttons are terrible. I wanted to use it for xbmc but it had no buttons to bring up your context menu or mark things watched or info. Was very easy to accidentally bring up the osd and no button to get back out of it without stopping and restarting your television show or movie. The documentation that comes with it is almost non existent. There are a lot of buttons that are pointless and useless for htpc and not programmable to make them that way. Save yourself the money and the time, spend a few dollars extra on a flirc and use any ir remote you already have lying around the house and EASILY program the buttons to do what you want them to be, where you want them to be. You will be a whole lot happier. The flirc in my opinion is hands down the best option if you need a remote for an htpc. I spent hours researching them and trying different things. I will now be buying flircs for all the rest of our machines, not this junk.

Didnt work for me.
I am used to the "Windows 7 Vista XP Media Center MCE PC Remote Control and Infrared Receiver for Home, Premium and Ultimate Edition" but need a 2nd remote. Build another HTPC for the bedroom and thought this remote would work just as good one I was used to. Plugged this remote in and drivers loaded just fine. However, when I pressed a button like up/down/left/right the action would get stuck like I was holding the button. Only unplugging the receiver would stop the action. Same results in Windows Media Center and XBMC. Returned this remote and purchased a 2nd "Windows 7 Vista XP Media Center MCE PC Remote Control and Infrared Receiver for Home, Premium and Ultimate Edition" http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00224ZDFY/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1. 10 bucks more but worth it as I have never had issues with this other remote.

For a few bucks this is the best remote controller I have ever bought and used
Original order arrived as expected but the item came broken. The remote itself was open and part of the circuit board was broken. I informed the seller of this and he agreed to send a replacement. The replacement remote works just fine. The replacement arrived as expected. I would do buy this remote again.I already own this remote but that one has been used and is almost to a point of being broken and useless. That's why I ordered the same remote to replace my old remote. This remote is actually meant for Windows system, but it works with other systems as well like Linux. If you are going to use this remote for other than Windows system, the only thing that will work is the mouse and number and letter keys. Everything else on it is useless or won't apply to your system.
