Good product, but Need good pump.
You're going to need a good pump to get the most out of these stones. I small 6 amp isn't going to cut it, Make sure you have a decent pump and you will be fine. . Also the suction cups don't don't stick very well to the bottom my my buckets , maybe its the nutrients I'm using or the temp of the water, but I just wanted to toss that out there. You may have to check them from time to time to make sure they didn't disconnect is all.Other than that they are pretty well made, not to heavy, but they don't feel like junk in your hand either. Nice bubbles, again with the right pump.

IT WAS REALLY GOOD UNTILL.......WELL
It worked well for half a season. I was a little rough with it. I used it in a water filled 55 gallon drum to make probiotic fertilizer for my garden. Worked great with a big pump only it was too much air. and I needed more outlets. eventualy within the 2nd month the middle part got a little loose but its probably because I was throwing it in. I would buy it again. I probably wil. it is the best made for the price. next time maybe Ill just screw it to the bottom of the barrel, which will stop it from getting banged around. anyway If you found my review helpful maybe you could let me know by clicking yes. Thanks

Works and nice and heavy!
I am using one of these in the bottom of a General Hydroponics water farm. It is heavy so it won't float and the bubbles are very small which is important to increase the dissolved oxygen. I have been very happy with the product it works just as you would think. I am so happy I plan on buying a larger model for a Compost Tea brewer I plan on making. It is expensive, but you get what you pay for!

Good, but restrictive stones.
Very restrictive stones. I have 11 of them. You can not mix them with other air stones or these will not pass air. This doesn't make them bad, just don't combine them with other brands. Good quality, bubble great in a hydroponic dwc. Just don't mix with other stones. I run a nice air pumps in my hydroponic gardens, not a cheap fish tank pump.

works great with pump we bought-one word of caution
the pressure really makes water look like it's boiling. we bought two.It uses a larger diameter hose. information really should be put on box. even retailer stuffs a note inside, hint, hint.this is what we bought to go with it;Inside 5/16" (8mm) 30 Ft PVC Clear Tubing Flexible Air Water Delivery Hose Airlinehttps://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00T4IF3MY/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1**2020after 4 years of 24/7, these finally gave out. the bottom plate separated. I'd call that excellent service!we just ordered a 3rd set for the next few years in our 750 gallon water tank for aquaponics system.

Requires a large pump to get adequate air from the stone.
I used the Hydrofarm Air Pump 2 Outlets 3W 7.8L/min (http://www.amazon.com/Hydrofarm-Air-Pump-Outlets-7-8L/dp/B002TCC46U?ie=UTF8&ref_=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_71) as the single outlet pumps didn't seem large enough. I used a tee to feed this stone with both outlets and it's not putting out many bubbles even with that. You need a really strong pump to get good air bubbles out of this item, the diameter probably should be an inch smaller. The only one outlet air pumps I could find were commercial types that seemed to be oversized and outside my budget for an air pump/stone in 6" of water.

Big Stone - Lots of Bubbles
This stone makes some serious bubbles. I purchased 2 of these to aerate a 1500 gallon red-eared slider pond. I'd previously had problems with heavy algae growth and muck in the pond with a smaller air stone and UV filter. This one (with the same UV filter) did the trick. After several months of use, the algae is hiding in the corners and the water is crystal clear. So much so that I removed the second 8" air stone. One seems to be sufficient for a pond this size. Using this stone with a high-volume air pump can generate enough bubbles to provide good water circulation, which should help with water temperature stratification, freezing, and associated fish die-offs.You'll need a good strong air pump to make lots of bubbles with this stone. Don't expect a cheap aquarium pump to do it justice. Construction quality is good - no complaints so far at all.

Nice weight, self sinking.
Mine arrived and seem to be working well. I think other posters might not have powerful enough air pumps and therefore feel they are getting an inadequate amount of bubbling.

These stones are fantastic. I have two in a nine thousand gallon koi pond and aeration is incredible. I should have checked the oinlet size as I had to purchase a new compressor to power them.

works well if you get one that works. lots of places for sealant to fail on these stones.
The first one I bought didn't work. It leaked all the air around the inlet port. The second one I got works alright. It's definitely quieter than my cheaper airstones, and makes some pretty fine bubbles. I'd use this stone more for aeration of the water than stirring it up though.
