  • WEATHERPROOF PAPER: 100 pages / 50 sheets per pocket notepad. All-Weather paper won’t turn to mush when wet and will repel water, sweat, grease, mud, and even survive the accidental laundry mishap. Make sure your pocket notebook stays RIGHT in the Rain. WIRE-O BINDING: Tough impact-resistant Wire-O binding won't lose its shape in your back pocket or backpack. Unlike a standard spiral notebook, Wire-O keeps your open pages aligned and intact. WRITE IN THE RAIN: Use a standard pencil like a #2 Ticonderoga or an All-Weather Pen like a Fisher Space Pen and your notes will stay intact. Standard Ballpoint pens will work when paper is dry. Water-based inks will bead off Rite in the Rain paper sheets. WATERPROOF NOTEBOOK COVER: Polydura material creates a tough but flexible outer shell. Whether you're needing a hiking journal, outfitting your police gear, starting a golf journal, or just keeping a shower notebook, the Polydura Cover material will defend your field notes from scratches and stains. RECYCLABILITY: Unlike synthetic waterproof paper, wood-based Rite in the Rain is completely recyclable. Please recycle Rite in the Rain as you would other white or printed papers.

Does quite a lot more than it says on the tin!

Tested in the field and more harshly at home - and it outperforms its name! The first day I had this, it came in handy to jot down a phone number whilst out walking in the rain.No fussing about trying to shelter the paper, like with a normal pad; just open it up, write, close and back in the pocket.Job done :-)I wanted to push the limits and see just how much abuse a sheet could practically take, and the results were very impressive.I tested writing with:* An HB (softer) pencil* A 5H (harder) pencil* A generic ballpoint pen* A generic permanent marker* A generic wax crayonand* A  Fisher "Bullet" Space Pen Marks made on the paper before wetting, with all the above, remained intact after complete submersion in water for 15 minutes (the length of time my testing took, not an upper limit).I could write successfully with both pencils, and the Space Pen whilst the paper was completely submerged and significantly softened by the water.I half expected the hard pencil to tear the sheet, but there was absolutely no problem at all; it was just like writing on good quality dry paper. After being wetted, the paper does soften a little, but will dry out just fine, and although it gets a little crinkled, is practically none the worse for wear. One benefit of pencil, is the ability to erase the marks, and I decided to test if pencil could be erased from wet Rite in the Rain paper. It was no surprise that the paper was badly damaged by the attempt, but astonishingly, although the surface layer was rubbed away with the pencil marks, the eraser didn't go through or tear the sheet! The resulting damaged area was slightly more translucent and rougher, but remained intact, so after being dried, could have been reused. This proved to me just how durable this paper really is.Normal wet paper will disintegrate if you look at it too hard, but this actually stood up to be written on with a hard pencil whilst fully submerged in water for at least 10 minutes, then being rubbed with an eraser enough to remove the upper surface and pencil marks - and was still a useable sheet of paper!!Awesome stuff. Really great solution to a frustrating problem. As a bonus, the inside of the tough plastic cover is printed with useful unit conversion metrics, measuring rules and map scale guides. The pad size is perfect for a breast pocket, and the ring binder is of a heavy enough gauge to remain cylindrical under duress (some lesser quality pads don't tear off well).Totally satisfied. Great product. Fisher "Bullet" Space Pen

Utterly waterproof, utterly brilliant.

This is genuinely waterproof! Water does not soak into the page at all, but runs of the page, instantly leaving a dry surface. The pages don’t have a plastic feel to them, they feel like actual paper, maybe a touch waxy but only ever so slightly. Bought at the request of my son who is on army basic training, and he thinks it’s fab. My other son is a rugby coach and rugby ref who says they are brilliant for taking notes or keeping score in wind rain and snow. Easy to write on in all conditions with pencil, marker pen or ball point pen. But be sure to use a decent one that can cope with the texture of the paper. I can recommend the Uniball Power Tank as these are the ones I bought, they write at almost any angle and are also waterproof. The conversion charts and scales on the cover are a nice touch. These notebooks are brilliant for any outdoor activity and do exactly what they claim to. I will be buying these again and am happy to recommend them.

Does it's job! NOT to be used with fountain pens though

Well, I have to say I'm actually rather impressed with this.I wanted to start EDC'ing a notebook with me, to go with my keychain pen on my Victorinox Manager, and this was obviously a compact (A6?) solution that not only works for my usecase, but is totally waterproof.Tried and tested, it is definitely waterproof and has no problems keeping the text on it from fading when exposed to water or various other test liquids. You can def. trust it. It even has a front page with some conversion charts & a ruler! Handy :)Will NOT work with gel pens or fountain pens (or highlighters, for that matter); this is due to the consistency of the water-based inks found within them, and is mentioned on the first page of the notebook. Works splendidly with a selection of biros, rollerballs, pencils, and other inks, however!

Solid

Pages in this pad are like those luxurious cloth-like napkins that you only get at Christmas when you go to somebody else house, when they want to impress you: each page feels too good to tear out and throw away, so each pen stroke is likely something you’d put more thought into, especially given the size of the notepad’s pages. The versatile design of the paper allows for both all weather pens, as well as ones closer to hand. However, directions discourage the use of gel ink pens (which I put to the test) over the preferred ball-point, but I found both to work well in post-wet conditions (after time to cure). Unfortunately the all weather pens cost the Earth (ironically) and so I am grateful that even wax crayons will do the job, knowing how pens can just go missing. This is a notepad and that’s all anybody really needs it to be, but sometimes the design department gets bored, or it feel the heat from new competitors and begins to over-bloat their design with additional swiss-army-knife like functionality. Yes, it does that, with conversion tables and ruled edges on the toughened plastic front and back covers, but it’s not intrusive and could be useful as this product likely serves many industries. For myself I have seen first hand how even unrecommended writing tools are taken care of and that’s enough for me. “Write in the Rain” - I could be crying when I write ..o0 (food for thought)This is a product that is made in the United States of America, which, if you’re from a First World country, means something.

It is what it is.

I have an EDC pen I keep on my wheels (a walking frame) and wanted something that wasn't frightened of getting wet.Probably in the last 5 years I've need a pen n paper probably 3 times! Being the person I am, I like to be ready, just in case.Well now I am ready to leave a note at anytime I need to, and probably more than before, cos now I can!You want a handy note pad that doesn't mind getting dirty or wet, before you use it ... Turn get this handy pad.
