Sight Reading For Bass Players: Vol 1

Quality bass chef reading book
I bought this book after watching some of Greg's bass shed lessons on YouTube. Greg draws on over 25 years professional playing, so you are learning from someone who has extensive experience. The book has 80 exercises in sight reading, something I feel I need to work on to improve my bass playing skills, and aid me reading some classic bass part books written only in standard notation. I recommend this book.

Excellent.
Excellent book. I use my copy primarily to help guitar students develop facility in reading the bass clef (as opposed to the usual treble) as it’s a useful skill. This book is clear and precise, & a lot of the exercises deal with common chord/harmony progressions, so students develop knowledge of common moves as well as the more obvious target of improving their reading.Obviously written by someone who knows the subject thoroughly. Highly recommended.

Easy to follow but like a lot of things you need to practice!
The book is excellent, well written, starts with the basics and ideal as it says for beginners or experienced bassists who are learning to readmusic. I will definitely buy volume 2 as soon as it is available.Free audio down load of the exercises is good.

Excellent book!
I have just started sight reading on the bass guitar and this book is perfect for my level. The exercises are easy to understand and I love the bonus help with the key signatures.

Sight Reading For Bass Players Vol.1

Solid, but too short
The book itself is well put together, clearly articulated (except for a few typos), and suitable for beginner players looking to start reading music. I especially love how the notation is clear, and doesn't contain any tabs. I will say however that the exercises are far too short in length and a little too easy.
