Don't limit your music to 61 keys, 76 is the sweet spot.
Don't limit your music to 61 keys, 76 is the sweet spot. 76 keys makes this keyboard a futureproof device for your musical journey.

It's a synth
I had an older Yamaha keyboard that was similar, but had only 60 keys. I thought I should step up and get a full 88 key keyboard with full size weighted keys, so I tried several models by different makers. In the end, I figured, who am I kidding? I'm not a piano player and I never will be. The keys are velocity sensitive, but are not weighted. 76 keys is plenty for my needs. The keys are noisy, but no more so than any of the other keyboards I tried. The clincher for me is the piano sound. There is a default "grand piano", but if you select the next piano on the list you'll get a much better sounding piano. In fact it is better than any of the more expensive "piano" keyboards I tried. This is the only sound I use 99% of the time and I don't use any of the learning or creative tools the machine has, so don't ask me about those.

Nice keyboard
I bought this keyboard based on the reviews and price. It’s a decent keyboard. It’s not top quality but it’s fine.

Yamaha is still on top when it comes to piano/keyboard! And you get value for your money! :)
Though I have been in the choir since elementary days, I only learned how to play the piano mid-last year when my late-husband encouraged me to learn. We have a Yamaha stage piano at home but it's too heavy to take to church. As such, I have been looking for a portable keyboard with great piano sound. I actually bought a folding keyboard online towards the end of last year --- portability was great, but the piano sound was disappointing. After a long research, I decided to purchase this Yamaha PSR-EW310 76-key Portable Keyboard. And I was not disappointed - the sound (not just the piano sound) is great, the weight is light enough to carry around, and the price won't break the bank! =) Since I just recently purchased this keyboard, I have yet to use it for our choir, but have been happily learning to use its different functions at home. Yamaha is definitely a brand you can trust for musical instruments. Now we have 3 various kinds of Yamaha piano/keyboard at home AND a Yamaha electric-acoustic guitar. :)
