According to the Aquasana website, the AQ-4125 works as a filter replacement for the following models: AQ-4100, AQ-4100NSH and AQ-4105. I've got the AQ-4100 as well, so this is the replacement I'm ordering. It's $52.50 through Aquasana's website. **Q: How often is it recommended to change filters?** A: I agree with 'Anonymous' (although the amt of people doesn't matter, it's just simply how many gallons flow through). It filters "10,000 gallons" An average 10 min shower uses 20 gals. Using this info it will last appr 500 showers. (adjust for your own personal usage). I have been using this shower filter exclusively for 15 yrs; I love it!! Would highly recommend. **Q: will this filter help with hard well water (no clorine)?** A: Probably. I know that it filters out quite a bit, because the water where I live has quite a bit of of hardness and minerals. I get kidney stones from the shower water, and putting the filter on my shower has completely stopped my kidney stones. I have a handyman change the filter one month sooner than is recommended, just to make sure that I never have a problem again since I had 3 visits to the emergency room with stones and urinary tract infections. It was my handyman who recommended that I do this, tho my urologist thinks I am nuts. Hey, the skin is your largest organ and it takes in many things from the environment just like it gives off by-products from your body. Regardless, this filter works for me.
