Inspiring, a cautionary tale.
I loved this book (these books). I should have paid closer attention when I ordered it, as I was unprepared for all three books to be in one binding. However, I intended to read them all anyway, so it didn't really matter. I bought this because I am interested in completing a thru hike myself. So reading about others experience is great research. Foskett does a good job of sharing the good and the bad. I read about the freedom, the views and trail experiences, the other hikers, trail angels and other good things. I also picked up on the physical, mental and health challenges, which at 50 years old myself, I find important to know about ahead of time. It's given me the inspiration I think I needed to begin taking thru hike of the AT seriously, and a better understanding of how much is involved as well as how I should prepare. If you are curious about hiking or backpacking, or enjoy reading about others journeys through challenging experiences, give this trilogy a shot.

Balancing on Blue
Reading all three of the books I got a real felt of the struggle and commitment it takes to complete any of these journeys, because a journey it is that Keith takes us on. The first two books he manages to keep the positives coming with little antidotes here and there, with laugh out loud moments, but the last book saw a more somber Keith with the book becoming more of a trail info guide about the heights and milage. I could feel the change in character the AT trail was having and flipping the pages was eager for him to come back to us and be the story teller he is. Surprise surprise he did, the last pages turned quickly as he took me through the last stages, felt his elation and sadness and I shed a few tears as it came to an end. Recommend to anyone taking on a thru-hike.

Why settle for one when you can have all three?
As someone who had read all three of the books in this collection before, I still jumped at the chance to have them all rolled into one. Anyone who has even the slightest interest in long distance hiking needs to have this trilogy in their collection!Keith is a fantastic story teller and "Fozzie" (his trail name) is someone you will instantly come to love. These books are both the fuel to fire a desire for your own thru-hike and the perfect way to reminisce about hiking that you may have done in the past.Even if you can't get out on the trail today, you can dive into the miles and escape from your prison in the real world within these pages.

Thanks Mr Foskett
I love these kind of books, and these three are wonderful. A good mix of daily life on the trail, logistics, personal rumination’s and history of the area he is passing through. I have read all three three times now.

New Year’s Day 2021
As the awful year of 2020 slips away into well-deserved (eventual) obscurity, I’d like to thank Keith for writing this book, and other books, which have helped me survive the COVID-19 pandemic so far. I’m sad but not because the year ended last night, but because I believe I’ve now finished Fozzie’s last book available to me. I hope I’m wrong about this...

Varied journies well worth sharing
Each of these three thru hikes is unique and enjoyable to follow along. The first journey in France and Spain was less familiar, more food oriented (and sadly, loaded with references to smoking). Quite an interesting journey, physically, mentally and spiritually. I have read so many books and blogs from the AT and PCT, but these were a welcome re-visit. The only things that made me sigh a bit.. if someone finds a trail name you tried to give them objectionable, please drop it in referring to that person.. Sorry, not sorry. But overall enjoyable reads, about the places, process and progress, and all the other hikers.Fozzie, I hope you are enjoying life and having more adventures that you will share.

Engaging, humorous, and real account of AT
This is the third book of Mr. Foskett's that I've read. He has an uncanny ability to make you feel as if you are hiking right beside him. I have read numerous other nonfiction hiking books but none compare to those written by Keith. My passion is hiking, and I love the term dromomania. I enjoy reading the experiences Keith describes so vividly. His writing style brings the adventure to life.Read all of his books if you are even remotely interested in the adventurous lifestyle of thru hiking. No one does it better than Keith Foskett.

Follow your passion!
Armchair travelers will want to grab the nearest pair of hiking boots and find a trail. Fozzie doesn’t tell a story. Instead, he paints a picture of that which I believe many more of us have inside than allow to surface: an overwhelming desire to find ourselves through experiences in nature. If you harbor a love of nature and an awareness of your personal need for space and time alone, Fozzie’s stories will pierce your heart.

Marvelous
Only just half way through and totally captivated , just can't seem to put it down , in the last year had some big bad things go on ,so a read like this makes you realise that you have to make the best of what you have ,and stuff it time doesn't stand still so if there's something that you really want to do you must do it now ! Any way back to the book , it so far is well written with just the correct amount of banter /serious side , there is detail on some of the solitude but it doesn't grate on as this is a balance on these kind of trips between loneliness and satisfaction of being alone with nature, the narrative is extremely difficult to keep fluid with the changes of people met , places visited , personal struggles but the author manages it with ease.I would like to thank MrFoskett for producing an excellent piece of literature and would recommend to anybody who enjoys the outdoors, travel and a great balance of humour and humility,

Fantastic trilogy collection - Recommended for everyone not just hikers.
I wholeheartedly recommend this trilogy collection. Each of these trail adventures are amazing in their own right. Each would be a life-changing event on their own. To have undertaken all three is quite some accomplishment. The author writes about these with great humour, honesty, and an open heart. Totally engaging. This collection should not just be read by those interested in distance hiking, but by everyone. The authors' humour and observations have universal application and enjoyment. Three separate amazing walking adventures combined in full into on fantastic collection.

What a great way to read all three of Keith’s Thru-hikes. I loved following his adventures and his experiences. Really wetted my appetite to find the time in future years to at least do some day hikes!Would recommend

Excellent book
Fozzie writes beautifully and to have all three of these books together is a real treat. If you're keen on the idea of a loooong walk, then read these to get an idea of what it's really like. I liked Cheryl Strayed's book about the PCT, but think Fozzie's books are more down to earth and informative about the experiences he's had whilst walking.Regarding the bookseller, the book was delivered within the time frame specified and is in good condition.

Sometimes funny sometimes not
I have read all three books in this trilogy and I can honestly say all have left me inspired to get out my walking boots and walk, these are not simply walking books, they are travelogues. they are memoirs, they are adventures. Sometimes funny sometimes not, but always completely engrossing. Book 1 is one of the best books about the Camino I have read and I have read loads! The characters he meets and talks about on the PCT (book 2) are worth the read alone.I cant recomend these books enougth they transport me from the mundane to the extraordinary.
