My 8 year old grand daughter uses these with out any smearing so that speaks volumes! They dry pretty quickly for gel pens. But that is the nature of gel pens, they are more liquid then other pens. This set has 6 colors with the name of "yellow" in it. I would say yes, the "yellow cake"(glitter) would be more of a classic yellow. The "aspiration yellow"(glitter) leans more to a gold yellow. The others are "yellow energy"(soft neon), "yellow kindness"(neon), "happy yellow"(glitter) gold yellow, and "sunflower yellow"(metallic)- gold yellow. Hope this helps.
