Great DVD on a rarely presented subject
First, a little background. Several years ago, I was traveling with a good friend of mine who is also a long time practitioner of martial arts. We had to share a hotel room; and to my amusement, the guy slept in a sarong! Of course, I'm glad he chose to wear that rather than go without! For several years, I have have been a big fan of Ron Balicki's DVDs. I have his two volume Jun Fan Gung Fu, his Kali Silat Entries and Takedowns, his three volume Filipino Boxing, and his eight volume Jun Fan Jeet Kune Do DVDs. Over my 30 plus years doing martial arts, I have amassed quite a library of various VHS, VCDs, and DVDs on various arts, not necessarily to study, but to see what other styles are like, etc. And some, such as Ron Balicki's DVDs, I have learned from to supplement my own skills as a kung fu practitioner. One of my biggest complaints about martial arts instructional material is that many tapes will only contain basic, rudimentary material. Another, in the case of instructional DVDs for forms or katas, is that many will demonstrate the form without showing applications to give you an idea of the intent of various movements. Even worse are those that will show forms without even a breakdown of the movements themselves. Another pet peeve are those DVDs that are stingy on content. When it comes to Ron Balicki's DVDs, he gets it all right on all fronts. His DVDs present the most thorough, content rich, DVDs that I have ever seen. They are truly DVDs that one can use and learn from. I wholeheartedly recommend any of Ron Balicki's DVDs to anyone who either wishes to study from it or simply wants to get a thorough look at a particular art.All of this brings me down to my friend. Since I never wear a sarong and have no intention of doing so, I didn't buy this for myself. However, since my friend does wear one and his birthday is coming up, I bought this for him. So, if any of you happen to have the misfortune of attacking him in the middle of the night, thanks to Ron Balicki, my buddy will easily beat you up with his underwear!!!

Good to know
Good info if you're a flexible weapons fighter. The techniques outlined can be used with a myriad of items like belts, ropes, and chains. A good addition to anybody's arsenal.

Great for beginners!
I feel like this series is a good introduction to the Sarong and there is much that can be learned from it.
