Q: Could it be put on texture walls?

It will work up to an orange peel texture, just nothing deeper than orange peel.

Q: Purchased before seeing the "Not recommended for walls with flat paint" part. Anybody have any tips/experience with same?

It should adhere to flat paint, but there is a chance it could damage some paint upon removal.

Q: Are there grid lines on the reverse for easy cutting?

No, we do not add grid lines on the back. We've found that most walls aren't completely even, so the straight lines aren't very helpful. We give installation tips in our demo video, as well as on the inside of each label.
