Sensi Wi-Fi Thermostat models UP500W and 1F86U-42WF do not have color touch-screens, and a c-wire is not required for most HVAC applications. While not compatible with HomeKit, these models are compatible with other smart home platforms including Amazon Alexa. Not sure why u can’t do both. If u have any smart devices set up in ur home, then see if u can set up a schedule there instead of the Sensi app, then just turn on geofencing in the Sensi app. Worked for me. Alexa allows me to do schedules on the thermostat even when I have geofencing on in the Sensi app. I love this thermostat. Much better than the Nest that just takes everything over & is difficult to navigate & is so much more expensive. Nest has also have threatened & planned to stop being compatible with Alexa & Apple pods anymore due to the competition, to force people to change to the Google assistant, which would make it worthless to anyone using Alexa or other non-google smart devices. I bought two nests for family members,& one for myself that I couldn’t get to install in my home, but for me, this one does what I want but doesn’t tell ME how I can use it and what smart devices I can use it with. It works with ALL smart home setups. And it was super easy to set up. I can already see the energy savings I’m gonna get with this cause my thermostat is staying exactly at the temp I chose & it’s not running all day anymore. Recently purchased a house and it came with an Ecobee 4. Had nothing but issues with it. Would crash randomly and take up to 25 minutes to reboot, and in general does not carry ease of use. Now onto the Sensi touch. Amazingly simple to install and wire, the app even gives you a guide so you can designate what your previous wiring was at the terminals of the thermostat and it will automatically reconfigure and give you a 2-D diagram of positive wire up the Sensi using your existing wiring. Once wired up, I finished registering in the app and was able to control my thermostat remotely on my phone. Both of the app and the thermostat itself are quality, sleek, simple and is incredibly easy to use. I know there are a lot of high tech options out there, but if you are looking for something that is easy to install, reliable, and really offers most of what you would get when spending several hundred dollars on a thermostat for a flat $100.
