A deterrent, but not 100%
I bought these to deter 4 squirrels and a racoon from raiding my bird feeders. They were a little difficult to install because the screws have to go down to the bottom of the spikes (ouch). The first afternoon they were on the railing, I looked out to see a squirrel just sitting on the spikes while eating out of the bird feeder. (Later a Tufted Titmouse came and harvested the squirrel's fur left behind and took the fur home to line its nest.) I have since seen a squirrel on the spikes several times, but they don't stay long. I've also seen squirrels come up to the spikes, pause, and then turn around and go away. The sad part is that I have also seen birds try to land on the spikes and have a hard time lifting off to get away because their little feet slide down in between the spikes. To my knowledge, no birds have been injured, but it was obviously an uncomfortable experience for them. (I have not stayed up late enough at night to see whether it has any effect on the raccoon or not.)

Bye Bye Birdies!
Birds try to nest on the ledge under our patio roof, every year and they cover our patio with their droppings. This year it’s worse than ever, because my neighbor has bird feeders in his backyard! I got tired of cleaning up after them on a daily basis, so I searched for a solution. Over the years, I had tried the fake owl and others I know had tried the metal wire strips, reflective materials, sonic “repellents” and even lasers, but nothing worked. They even built nests, using the metal wire from the strips as supports! After reading about these and seeing that they were the perfect width for my ledges, I ordered and installed them, which was an easy process using double-sided exterior tape. That first evening, when they started coming in to roost, the birds were NOT happy! Most just hovered for a second, looking at it, before flying away. I only saw one try to land on a strip and, when he did touch the tips, he took off in a hurry! After just one week, our patios are cleaner than they have been in a long time! I’ve already had a couple of friends ask about them and say they plan to get some and tell others who are having bird issues at their homes and boathouses about them. These things work! Some of the best money I’ve spent in quite a while! Try them and you won’t be disappointed!

Utterly Useless
These spikes did nothing to stop squirrels getting to the bird feeder! If anything, it encouraged them! After just 2 days, squirrels had chewed down the spikes and were running across it like it wasn't even there. This product is a complete waste of time and money. DON'T BOTHER.

Works to keep the birds from pooping on car...
We bought these to put on our carport. We spray painted them white to match. Since these don't come with a way to attach them, we are trying out this heavy duty double sided tape and so far it works really well. (Link for the tape is below) So far it is holding up well and the birds are no longer sitting on the carport, pooping on the cars.https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07Y7RTG3Q/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Didn’t work for doves
Nothing wrong with the product and seems like an excellent idea. Two stars because they didn’t work for me. The doves coming to my house use this spike strip as a good foundation for building nests! Too bad because the shorter style of these spikes make them less of an eyesore than the tall metal spike ones. But I guess it’s a trade off for not having bird poop and debris all over a patio!!

Keeping squirrels off the outside of my window.
I like that hopefully it’ll stop squirrels from trying to get in my window.
