Update: ended up very useful
They're cute and colorful, very easy to attach to things, and the chime sound is very gentle and pretty, so I do think it's worth a try...your baby might just love them! They didn't get that much use at first with 4 month old little boy, but ended up pretty useful. We used them with our second child too. Over the first year or two, we attached these to the handle of the car seat, and the tray table of the stroller. Our little one played with them pretty often, and BONUS having them there made it easier to attach other toys closer sometimes. I definitely liked having them around, and even replaced them once when they were lost while traveling. Also, since the car seat's rear facing, and the baby napped hidden away under the stroller cover, hearing the chimes was sometimes a good indicator that baby was still awake/had woken up, cause you could hear him playing with the chime toys. And, equally importantly, they weren't really loud/disruptive enough to wake the baby even if jostled into sound while he was asleep though, so that was handy. In case you're curious for other recommendations, my baby really loved this tiny Taggies Monkey Rattle attached to a stroller strap [http://www.amazon.com/Taggies-Dazzle-Dots-Rattle-Monkey/dp/B00AJF7OZ0/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1403813270&sr=8-3&keywords=taggies+monkey AND http://www.amazon.com/Baby-Buddy-Secure-A-Toy-Navy-Blue/dp/B003Y3BH1G/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1403813279&sr=8-2&keywords=stroller+buddy]

Soothing sound, and baby loves to look at faces.
When my last baby was born, I almost got these soothing chime rattles for him. So this Christmas with a new baby, I knew exactly what I wanted. I love the chime sound, plus I decorate with ducks and frogs, so they are perfect for me AND baby. So glad to finally have them. You know if you regret not buying something for a baby for a few years that it must be a good thing, right?

Great sound
These are great. The chime sound is lovely and my 3 month old loves to watch them while riding in the car. There is a slightly different chime sounds for each toy. The little one doesnโt grab at them yet so no idea how they hold up to pulling and mouthing but I recommend them for a soothing distraction if your infant hates the car seat like mine.

VERY USEFUL - not only as child entertainment but also as holders for carseat straps!!
I bought these before my baby arrived and I thought they would be great entertainment for when she was in her carseat (a Chicco KeyFit). Little did I know just HOW USEFUL THESE THINGS ARE!!! They're great because the string on them is strong enough to hold the seatbelt straps in a carseat to the side ahead of placing your baby in the carseat. This has been BY FAR the most useful feature. My baby also loves watching and batting them when she's in the carseat. The only negative drawback is that the hanger on them with the velcro is quite long and wide, so they always slide down on the carseat handle. You could probably shorten them if you wanted them to "stay in place" by stitching a fold, but I have not done so myself. The fact that they slide I have just let go since I use them mostly on the low sides to secure the carseat straps, as I stated above. The noise the rattle makes is also very soft and pleasing, I do not find it to be disturbing at all.

Baby loves them
I had the older version of the duck and we noticed mold growing on the bottom feet so we tossed it out. I bought these which are identical except the middle design, but that doesn't bother me. These are easy to rip off of whatever you strapped them too, easy to jingle- not much motion needed to make them jingle. Good for long car rides and for regular play. We haven't noticed any issues with mold so far which is great, but still on the lookout.

Pleasant sound but don't stay in place
My daughter loves to bat at toys, so I thought these were promising for her carseat. They are cute and the chime sound is pleasant, but I wish the entire strap was made out of felt so the velcro fastening is adjustable. That way there is no slack on the strap and they will stay in place. There is a fixed velcro patch and so the toys slide down the bars of the carrier and end up hanging out the sides of the carseat where they brush up against dirty cars and walls. Not what you want when your baby likes to take things and put them in her mouth! If the straps were just adjustable, I would give this 5 stars.

Cute and Washable
I bought these to help entertain my 5 month old daughter, and she just loves them. I put them on her car seat, used them to distract her during diaper changes, put them around her wrist like a bracelet when she is in her bouncer or on her mat. The packaging says to not wash them, so I held off for a while with just "wiping" them clean as directed. It bothered me after it was dropped several times (especially with puppies in the house), so I just threw one in the washer with the rest of her laundry to see how it would fair. (I figured I had two and could spare one or order more if needed.) I'm happy to report both toys have survived many trips through the washer and dryer and they are still intact (and still chime). It helps ease my mind that I can wash them, probably just a new mom thing, but it makes me feel better to give her toys I know are clean.

Turned out useless; did not entertain the baby
I wanted to hang these on the stroller's handle that my baby kicks all the time - as an added entertainment, I wanted her to hear chimes whenever she kicks. However, the velcro doesn't hold and they keep moving. Even when I put them on the carseat handle, they would just slide down to the side and I have to hold them in place so my baby can see them.
