Argo Baking Powder, 60 Ounce

I go through a ton of Baking Powder, and Argo is my preferred brand. This huge container should keep me for awhile! Argo is double-acting baking powder and it IS aluminum free (for those of us who care!).[In case you are wondering why it is important to use Aluminum free, it is a taste issue. If you have ever experienced baked goods with a bit of a metallic or tinny taste - it was probably the aluminum in your leavening agent. There *may* also be health reasons not to use baking powder with aluminum in it, but this doesn't seem to be definitively proved]While some will tell you to buy the smallest package of BP you can so it stays fresh, I haven't had any issues with mine losing its freshness. Screw the lid closed and if you manage to throw it on the floor, step on it and break it (guess who did THAT!), then store it in a tightly zipped zippy bag!OK - enough of that... bottom line is, this is my preferred baking powder, I use it all the time, and I'm delighted to have found a huge container of it!Go bake something now, y'hear?

I do a lot of baking, and was horrified to finally realize there was aluminum in the baking powder I had been using for years. I switched to Argo, and bought the huge size. I was impressed with the plastic container with screw on lid, the size of the container and the way it bakes. I notice no difference in the rise on any of my baked items. Now I have peace of mind that I am not contributing to future health problems. I will be a repeat customer, This product is a winner!!

Aluminum-free gives you the best taste and it's better for your health. If you bake a lot, you'll go through this quantity eventually. If you are worried about not using it fast enough before it goes bad, do what I do: I decant the product into a couple of smaller containers and keep the large one well-sealed, opening it only 2-3 times in its lifetime, that keeps it from absorbing water from the air.

I have used this brand of baking powder for years, but decided to look into other brands before buying this. The Argo baking powder has no aluminum in any form in it, which is good. I use it for baking powder biscuits, quick breads, cakes, cookies, etc. The picture shown here is old, because the containers are now white instead of clear, but that makes no difference save being able to tell at a glance how much baking powder you have left.

We go through a lot of pancakes and a lot of baking powder - so buying bulk is great. I really like the Argo product - no aluminum makes me feel better somehow - and there is also no bitterness like some other brands. Only downside to this pack is no straight edge to easily level my measures.

First bought this at Costco but they quit selling it? It is fantastic; great results every time and NO ALUMINUM. Long lasting - I bake a lot and one canister lasted me at least 6 months. Would like to see this item offered with the subscribe and save service.

The front label does not say or have “aluminum free”banner like the picture ...BUT the list of ingredients don’t have aluminum listed. So I’m going with that it’s “aluminum free”. I prefer to bake bread with baking powder rather than yeast.

Aluminum free! I won't run out of baking powder any time soon, that's for sure! This is a great buy and sell must to have if you plan to do some serious baking. I hate taking my kids to the store so anything that reduces the amount of trips that we take is a success in my book!
