Marcy 100lb. Vinyl Weight Set with Standard Size Weight Plates, Weight Lifting Bar and Spring Collars VB-100

With our current situation and most gyms were closed when I purchased. Delivery took forever, I finally had to go to UPS to pick up (due to Covid), the 25lb plate had a crack in it, the bar is really light. You definitely have to be careful as they are plastic with cement. Are they great, but for the price they are awesome.

Bought this to workout at home and it is SO easy to put together it's not even funny. It comes with two 10lb, two 15lb and two 25lb weights and the bar with the clips. Also works like a charm. Great product for the price !! Would recommend.

Great weights, just a horrible bar. Better to invest in a solid 1 piece bar instead for “serious” lifting. But it’s great for your price and will last you quite some time. This is the 2nd set I’ve picked up and they get the job done.

It's flimsy, I've Had this for less than a year and the bar is broken. If you zoom in on my photo you can see that the part of the bar that is supposed to screw into the right side slipped out. Luckily the bar doesn't come with much weight and I had a wide grip or I could have been maimed. Like that's not an exaggeration either, the way this broke appart with the max weight this set comes with can break bones. I contacted customer support earlier about the condition my weights arrived in they didn't respond (they were covered in dark soot). I used them cause we were in a pandemic and had no other option. (I also posted a review here and that was removed because apparently telling the truth about a product and including pictures is biased) so I don't have any hope that customer support will respond, also it's not likely anyone will be warned by my review cause it'll probably be removed.TLDR do not buy this product.

I'm so glad I found a barbell set in the middle of this pandemic while all workout equipment was sold out or overpriced. Much much nicer than I'd imagined. Barbell clamps are not ideal but they work fine for now. The bar has nice grips. The weight plates seem pretty sturdy. Delivery was fast. Work very nicely for my little home gym area. Perfect!

Here’s a detailed description of my current purchases of this set pros and cons.Pros-1- The Vinyl plates. The design of the plates makes them easy to stack on and lock on to one another for smooth sailing. The plates are also accurate to weight which is a big deal.2- The cost, if this was purchased under $90 you got yourself a steal. That’s under $1 per pound alone without the bar and clips.3- A complete set with everything you need. That beats the hassle of searching for things individually.Cons1-Shipping and packaging. I cannot stress this enough after purchasing some sets. Undeliverable, repackage, missing items, messed up weights, barbell and completely damage packaging are things that will occur over long trips. If you’re on the west coast, that might be your safest bet for purchasing this Marcy weight set.2- The barbell. It does it’s job all things considered, but it weighs next to nothing with 1 small screw holding everything in place. Do not add more weight to this set and make sure to not drop plates on barbell. The barbell is hollow and can easily bend in areas.3- The collars are cheap. However, they too also get the job done. I’d expect nothing less from a weight set at this price.4- Price, if you purchased this for over $100 good luck. Considering cast iron usually costs $1 a pound, I’d feel robbed with basically paying that much for this set of vinyl. Especially if there’s any issues with missing or damage parts.Suggestions1- Buy if your on the West Coast.2- Buy a new Barbell, it will last you in the long run. I’d suggest a standard 1inch barbell of any size from Cap barbell.3- Buy new standard 1inch collars, I prefer clamp collars.ConclusionThe plates have a nice feel to them on my current barbells and makes me feel stronger than I am given the size. Most people these days prefer cast iron weights, but there’s just something about having vinyl weights that’s nostalgic. This set is decent for its price. Proceed with caution.

Great for a vinyl weight set. I use it for hip thrusts and different exercises.

The barbell is easy to assemble, weight is easy to put on, everything works as described. One thing that is not mentioned in the description is that the barbell is 5' long, so it might not fit some bench rack that needs a 6' barbell. Overall it is a good product for squats and deadlifts.

Reading some of the other reviews almost stopped me from purchasing this item. However, I am so happy with my purchase! I was able to pick up this set for $102 CDN with free shipping - this price cannot be beat. Everything was exactly as described, no 'dirty weights' or missing parts as other reviewers stated. I was able to assemble the bar within minutes - it's exactly what I was looking for. Comes with 2 x 10lb, 2 x 15lb, and 2 x 25lb plates. I picked up a couple of 5lbs after the fact to round out my set. Highly recommend!
