best investment I made on this car
I was thinking about getting one of these for a while but never got around to it until recently. I had to take my Expedition to the garage to replace some torsion bars and Mike, my mechanic, says his kids put K&N on all their vehicles and swear by them. Both his kids are mechanics and work in the same garage and that was good enough for me. He said if I can get a K&N for a better price then he can, he'll be glad to install it. So I looked around and Amazon had better prices than his supplier and a week later we were stripping off the old intake. Installation took about a half an hour, only because these guys have done it before and, unlike me, they keep their tools organized, but it was a pretty easy install. It looks great under my hood and I can now see my engine but driving is where I can see my money well spent. It's like my asthmatic car suddenly had new lungs and I can feel at least a 10% increase in HP. The tranny doesn't shift gears as much going up hills and take off is so much more responsive. It now sprints when I hit the gas instead of shambling. The first and second fill up showed a consistent 2mpg increase in fuel consumption. Not much but considering the increase in HP I'm very pleased and now I can't wait to get behind the wheel. The next step is a back cat to modify the exhaust to let the car breathe even better. Hey... I gotta hear it roar!

Sounds awesome!!!! My truck has no problem getting up at higher speeds. When it would get to about 70 it would slow down now it just keeps going 70 to 100 like nothing. I find it helped more in the longer range you'll fell it kick in at about 65 70 where a truck would start to struggle. Never did a gas text to see if it helped but deff gave it more power. I'm happy with this product and instillation was about hr 45 and easy to do

Quality Product with good instructions and everything fits when done.
Installed on a 1998 Ford F150 with 5.4 engine. Good instructions with quality parts and hardware supplied. Initial drive around seemed to add some throttle response and acceleration difference is noticeable. Only an intake but there seems to be more torque at part throttle. I realize at part throttle there should be no increase but something is working differently. Full throttle acceleration sounds like my old 4 barrel chevelle. Pleasant surprise. Install time was 1.5 hours. Mass air sensor is moved pretty far from throttle body however the new assembly seems to function just fine. Good Product.

Works good not easy to install
Works well and deffently ads oxygen to my engine. But the instructions are diffcult to understand. It took me 3~ hours to install this kit. And that's with guessing what some parts were. I would say it different add much sound quality but it did as power.

Woah!!
This has to be my favorite Amazon purchase to date. This weekend, I installed this intake system on my 2002 4.6L F-150. The directions were good, but there wasn't any youtube videos out there for this specific model. The same for K&N's website. The step-by-steps tend to miss a couple of steps. You just have to be sure to look at the exploded diagram often and pay close attention to make sure that you are using the right parts in their necessary steps. I thought that the kit could have used at least one more small clamp after cutting down the size of the air bypass tube, but I had extras so no biggie... Ok. It just looks a little different and my OCD was kicking in. The deep sound, throttle response and HP are definitely felt! I already had Flowmasters going for me, but you can really tell when this sucker starts gulping in air. So far, I've been driving it around for three days and no sign of the dreaded "check engine" light. I'm good to go and so will you. Get it!
