Relevant in the USA
This book is written by and for American Detectorists and is not really relevant for UK readers

a must read for beginners.
This was written by an American lady for the American market but all of the points that she makes are relevant to someone starting out in metal detecting. MOST important of all, read your user manual!! Get out in your garden and use your machine to get used to the sounds and operation.

For the USA market and not UK
As others have stated this is by a USA author and discusses metals found in American coins as well as American slang terms. It is not suitable for the UK market and I gained nothing from reading it at all.

USA oriented, little if anything of real value.
Perhaps I missed it but I didn’t realise when ordering this book that it was written by an American and used USA terms, experiences, sources and background. Whilst there were a few useful hints, much of it was common sense (eg take sunblock and water with you, research the Internet, speak to others). All in all, worth a quick browse but not worth buying. Hint - look for detector instruction manuals which can be downloaded from the Internet eg from Minelab which are far more useful, as are UK based YouTube videos.
