Initial Review Gotham GAC-4/1 RCA Cables
These made a noticeable improvement in the sound quality in my desktop system that surpasses the small investment by a wide margin. The system is made up of the following components* Hackintosh music server* Roon Music Player (catalog, organizer, player software)* Chord Mojo (DAC/Pre/Headphone Amp)* Emotive Airmotive 4S powered speakers* Oppo PM-3 HeadphonesInitial ImpressionsDue to the internal ground configuration, these are “directional” cables and are clearly marked to insure the cables are installed correctly. The RCA plugs are impressive and feature a barrel twist tightening mechanism to insure a solid mechanical connection to the source and destination jacks. Many other “high end” cables use high clamping pressure but no way to reduce the pressure during installation and removal. I have read reviews where jacks have been damaged because of the high clamping pressure. You won’t have that problem with these cables. They are plated with thick gold which also insures good conductivity.I believe the actual cable is designed to be used for connecting microphones to amplifiers or mixing boards. The outer sheath appears to be a black rubbery substance. All of the “cable porn” is in the cable ends. There is no woven outer cover as seen on other better cables. Not a deal breaker as the outer sheath seems sturdy and abrasion resistant. As microphone cable it would suffer far more abuse than a typical RCA cable would.Overall, these appear to be high quality and should last many years under normal use. I get the impression the maker put all of the production costs into the quality of the cable and plugs. A woven cover looks nice but would add a higher cost without actually improving the audio quality.First ListenI removed the Better Cables (brand name) silver coated OFC copper RCAs and plugged in the new Worlds Best Cables Gotham GAC-4/1 cables. Based on prior experiences with new cables, I was expecting to be underwhelmed. To my surprise, they sounded quite good. Some of the really good cables I have tried in the past require some time to break in before they begin sounding good.Bass was well controlled and detailed. Mids and highs were detailed, but not “in your face” exaggerated. I played some vocals and noticed that one of my pet peeves, sibilance was virtually gone. I played some female vocals where the miking was close and hot and was pleasantly surprised by the lack of glare and sibilance in these recordings.Fine detail was finely etched without any trace of edginess. Notes decayed naturally. Room reflections (when present in the recoding) sounded natural. The detail enabled me to hear individual instruments as distinct sources. The natural sounding room reflections and reverb made the speakers disappear on well recorded tracks. On the best recordings, I could easily discern the location and distances of each source within the soundstage. After one week…As the cables break in, the sound has improved. The overall change has been a sense of smoothness without any loss of detail or ambience. The soundstage has expanded, sounding deeper and wider. Sources far left or right often hang in space beyond the edges of each speaker.Dynamic range has improved lending an even better sense of rhythm and pace. Percussion instruments sound, well, more percussive. Sometimes to the point of actually being startling at times.ConclusionWorth every penny and more. At least in my system, I have spent far more to obtain much smaller increments of improvement in the past. As always, these will (or will not) yield similar improvement in sound quality depending on the rest of your system and the quality of the files you feed it.

Exceptional RCAs, My Highest Recommendation
These are exceptional RCA cables. Currently the Gotham GAC 4/1 Black are running throughout my entire system. Bi-Amped/BiWired Bryston NRB 3B Amps, an Adcom GFP-750 preamp, a Marantz 6005 CD player, a Pro-Ject Debut Carbon Turntable, Linn Ninka speakers and Gotham speaker cable.I've had a lot of good to excellent interconnects over the years but I honestly cannot say I've had any better sounding cables than the Gothams. In my system they have outperformed all my previous RCAs, my Transparents, Audioquests and others. They are essentially 'colorless' and reveal all the dynamics, nuance and transients. Deep taught realistic bass, smooth detailed and refined midrange and elegant non fatiguing highs. These cables are so well balanced and do everything so well. Really they are a bargain as you could pay easily twice as much and get less. I know, because I have. One other thing is the professional build quality. These are terminated with the Eminence Premium DWA-337 locking RCA Connectors by WBC and the craftsmanship is exceptional based upon my personal experience with them. They are meticulous and the care and quality shows.I highly and without hesitation would recommend these cables to anyone who is serious about sound, build quality and value.
