Feels like you're playing on a snare.
My son loves it. He says compared to his previous drum pad this is the closest feel of a snare drum. He's practices on it daily non-stop.

Parents: not that loud
My child uses this product all the time to practice his quads for marching band. He has no complaints. As for me, it is one of the quieter practice pads, so I'm not complaining either.

Great for Highland drumming!
This pad is the best one I've had for clarity and articulation. The feel is close to the sidedrum. The tone is good from pp to F. Any louder and you hear a lot of the wood.
