Your septic tank should be full . You can pour right in the toilet and flush or dissolve on hot water and pour in the toilet. I used the full bag the first time . Then I’d do 1/2 bag every 6 months that will back the roots away from the system. My dad was in the septic tank cleaning business with my brother since 1952 it works

What is another recommended way to store 10# of copper sulfate?

The only issue is absorbing water as you know. I have used a vacuum seal for long storage. Zip lock bag, seal and add silica absorbant pack. Lastly, and not recommended if stored next to food, is use of a freezer plus zip lock.

Are these fine crystals or lager one ?

Fine crystals, it is difficult to describe. Fine as compared to what? Ours were described as fine. Just be sure to stir them enough to liquify.

What is the 1% inert matter in this product?

No idea. Product performed as advertised but duration not what we hoped for. Maybe we should have used a stronger solution. I
