Yes, Pick Your Poison can be played as a stand alone game. The expansion packs allow you to have even more fun playing the game at a reduced price. With an expansion pack you get more questions without replacing the "guts" of the game.

What size are the cards so that I can buy card sleeves for the game? I don't have the game yet and wanted to buy it and some sleeves at the same time.

Could I play this with just my husband and I or is it better with more people?

So it’s 3-16 players, but you can just play it as a would your rather with just your husband. Either way really fun!
