Hamlyn All Colour Cookery: 200 Gluten-Free Recipes: Hamlyn All Colour Cookbook

They don't address the hard to replicate meals which traditionally are gluten filled.
Mostly they dodge the issue and are just recipes with ingredients that would be gluten free anyway. And they tend to focus on fancy foods - not everyday foods. What I want, and I expect a lot of folk do, is how to re-create those favoured gluten filled meals with gluten free alternatives - steak pies, yorkshire puds, lasagne, stuffing, fish & chips, bread - the list goes on.If you like fancy food and cooking programmes, you will probably be happy with this, but for day to day grub, it just doesn't fit the bill.Lots of nice deserts - but that isn't going to create a balanced diet.

Very pleased
I got this as my teen son has to have gluten free (& dairy free also) and it can be a bit of a sod trying to think of new things to feed him.I have other GF recipe books but this one has more things in it that are aimed at ‘everyday’ foods in my opinion. The layout is easy to follow although the book itself is a tad smaller than I thought it was gonna be. It is wipe clean, always a bonus.Have yet to make anything but the boy has already earmarked a ton of things he wants made.

Great little book
I wasn't expecting much for £3.99 but I'm very impressed. I have not made any of the recipes yet but most look delicious (This is quite unusual for me with cook books). I am new to gluten free but recently have a thyroid issue so was advised to cut out gluten. This book will be very useful for me, and my son will be pleased as he is a vegetarian so the meat dishes will easily be adapted for him. I could make quite a few of these dishes with what I have in the cupboards already so you don't have to go out and buy a million expensive ingredients you've never even heard of :) :)

A good all-rounder recipe book with no fancy ingredients.
I've looked at a lot of gluten free books but I like this one and tend to use it more. I used to bake a lot when I was undiagnosed but now, aside from the gluten issue, I find a lot of recipes use so much sugar and fat, it's unnecessary. So, I like and use the recipes in here. The scones are really good and the sticky toffee cake. There's also lots of savoury items in, so the book is a handy mix. It is only small so not as easy to read but it hasn't stopped me using it.

Small and rubbish recipes
I ordered this because Hamlin books are normally good.It took me a long time to get used to being gluten free. Was hoping to build my gluten free library up but I won’t be giving this space on my shelf. Why don’t they realise we need every day recipes and not arty farty recipes!
